Tora Ramen — Restaurant in Lancaster

Firstly, this is a new business, they are still finding their feet and taking on staff. But, this place doesn't feel like a typical restaurant, it's more homely. The food is served in a homely style rather than a typical restaurant service where the staff quickly take your order, drop your food at your table and just bugger off. It's cosy, has a genuine feel, and the food... Well, the food is amazing. Authentic recipes, succulent dishes, the flavours... As a 6.8' hungry man, I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 dishes but from a personal view, and this is strictly me being myself, the portions are a tad too small. For the average customer, it'll be more than enough. But for a big guy, I need more :D Money very well spent, which came to less than I'd have thought with it being a new business. I'm not a food critic, just a big guy who likes good food served in a manner that makes me want to go back for more. And I certainly shall be. I hope these chaps have all the success they deserve, they've worked hard to get to where they are. If you're looking for an Asian dish like Ramen / Katsu etc. then pay this place a visit. I've been waiting to try this restaurant since it opened unfortunately it was a bit disappointing. My ramen was cold, I returned it and ate the starters which were lovely and had some of my daughter's ramen which was delicious, when mine came back it had definitely been heated up a bit but still not hot enough but I was already full so just thought I'd get them to pack it up and I would reheat for my lunch then next day only to be told we can't take it away which is crazy so unfortunately we had to waste a large amount of it, (see photo of what was left) they even commented how much was left but they still wouldn't let us take it away. If I had known we couldn't take it away I wouldn't have ordered so much as it was definitely too much for an average person to eat. I hope they read this review and maybe inform customers that you can't take...

The portions were much larger than anticipated but the food was really good. I had the tora ramen and my partner had the tonkatsu ramen. Very flavourful and even better with a splash of soy sauce and chilli oil 😁 My partners parents had the pork and chicken katsu and the portion was massive, sadly forgot to take a picture!

We also ordered takoyaki and veg gyoza as starters. Didn't wait long at all for the food. The food didn't come all at once and came as it was ready to the table. It didn't really bother us at all though.

The server was very friendly and everything was just really good.
