Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Leeds

Ooook, so staff seemed really nice and polite. That's where the good review ends, after waiting for what seemed like the remainder of my life, we got to the till, my partner saw the state of the coffee machine and the side near the coffee machine and bin/sugar/ cleaning supplies area (very odd), and decided she no longer wanted a coffee, I bit the Bullet and carried on with my order, now admittedly after tasting it I should of gone back but had decided the £4 coffee didn't warrant me waiting in line again. What I can tell you is the coffee tasted very strange and the plastic lid smelt like damp. Safe to stay I shall not be returning.... confused on the 5 star hygiene rating also... must of been a good day!! Hope you didn't read this and ruin...

Wouldn’t normally review a chain coffee shop, however the Costa in Otley town centre really needs improvement. On several occasions there has been issues, we have turned up a few time and a crass note on the door greeted us advising its take out only due to staff issues and a couple of time closed completely due to staff issues. Every time (every) we have sat down for a coffee we have had to clear the table ourself and all the hand sanitisers are empty!! You usually know what your gonna get with Costa and Costa Otley you know your not getting a clean table if...

Wish this Costa was nearer to home. Wife and I can only visit when she has a physio appt in Otley every few weeks. Karl and team are exceptional in their trade. Here, you're not a customer, you are a 'guest' and treated accordingly. A lot of places could learn a lot from them! We've been to the ones at Monks Cross, St James Retail Park in Knaresborough, Merrion Centre in Leeds which are good but Harrogate a bit dire where the staff prefer to talk to each other rather than the customers.
