We went on Christmas Eve. It’s a cosy, small restaurant and the service was friendly. Two problems though: red wine should be served at room temperature, not cold. Bringing a warm glass doesn’t resolve the problem. The carbonara was bad. The egg had set so it was basically scrambled egg with some pasta and bacon. Trying to defend this - as the chef tried to do in a quite belligerent way - is not a good look for any serious restaurant. Eggs don’t have to be ‘overcooked’ in carbonara for ‘health’ or any other reason. Rest of the food was ok although the garlic bread was dry. Read moreGenuinely can't rate this restaurant highly enough. I have family in Otley and been out for dinner in the town many times, but last night was my first visit to Il Vicoletto. This amazing place is always going to be our first choice for dinner in the future. Generous portions, very reasonably priced, and absolutely delicious. I'm not generally a "compliments to the chef" person but last night was an exception.

I had Pesce Rosso which was beautifully presented and tasty whike both friends opted for spagetti alioli, it was delightful with a surprising chilli kick. A shared starter of tempura zucchini with a glass of Prosecco each, 3 mains off the specials board with a side salad and a bottle of wine came to around £32 per person.
