Jake's Bar & Still Room — Restaurant in Leeds

Please read this review before going to Jake's Bar. There is a serious issue with staff here and the management do not care at all / are completely unwilling to do anything about the way their staff are acting.

A summary of my experience of Jake's Bar: After leaving the bar my friend's sister realized her mobile was missing. My friend asked a bouncer if they could go back in to find it and was given the OK. As he went to walk in, another bouncer grabbed him by the hair and threw him back. The bouncer then launched into a tirade of abused at my friend including calling him a "simple Irish c*nt". He tried to explain the mix up, but the bouncer was completely unwilling to listen. At this point the bouncer then followed my friend down the street, shoved him and hit him around the face twice. When I politely tried to diffuse the situation, I was also threatened "this is between me and him, if you say another word I'll mash your face in" (by the same bouncer).

When I asked two other bouncers if they would help by stepping in, they refused saying "he does what he likes" and "no point". The bouncer only moved away when someone else on the street threatened to call the police on him. The other bouncers refused to give me his name, my emails to the the bar have been ignored and the voicemails I've left (as nobody answers the phone!) have all gone unanswered. DO...

I have visited Jake Bar for over 19years of my life. True Leeds lass me! But lastnight, while on my work do and completely separated from my friends after losing my phone and trying to get home. YOUR door men refused to help me by calling a cab and also refused to let me bk in (after leaving on my own accord) to get any help from my friends! This was a despicable thing. Unforgivable! What if I was one of those so called students lastnight, alone and vulnerable???!!! What happened to a protective service and watchful eye?! Many things can go wrong for women on nights out and they left me hung, in the rain! T*s in my opinion. WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING I had a bouncer attack me at this place because he was interested in one of the girls I was talking to that attended this venue. I go out all the time and never have any issues but in truly traumatised attended this venue venue as was a assaulted by the bouncer, punched in the face for no reason without aggression whatsoever, I honestly didn’t even think things like this could even happen. If your a guy and don’t want be be assaulted by some random bouncer for talking to a girl he’s never going to he the chance to chat to please don’t go to this dodgy venue. What a joke.
