Specifically reviewing Bottomless Brunch: Due to such positive reviews, our expectations were high. The food was delicious as were the drinks. However our experience was a little stilted by what I would guess was the manager, and assistant manager - 2 females in non uniform who seemed to be running the show. I was greeted by a manager with a mic who told me even though only 3 out of 4 of us had arrived, because we were a little late and there was a booking for our table right after us, we had to start our 90 mins of bottomless immediately. Understood but it was a cold greeting. The 90 mins did NOT start immediately but instead we waited quite a while to be served. This happened regularly throughout the 90 mins meaning at times we were drinkless and/or foodless, and not had a chance to order anything. It was a busy Saturday and we felt sorry for the staff being back to back and not really being able to live upto expectations of service. The tables are packed tightly together so the atmosphere of the restaurant looks more spacious in images than reality. Happy to have been given a table not in the basement though! Our server was very nice and understanding and helpful. When a prosecco was served to us in a low ball glass, this was questioned and the assistant? Manager just shrugged her shoulders and said, we're busy. Not really an acceptable answer, she didn't apologise nor resolve the situation. Another glass was served to us with lipstick stains. I ordered 2 identical food dishes which came out presented completely differently. Little things to work on but overall, very pleased with the quality of food & drink despite how they were served. Good speed of service overall, just managers need to watch the attitude and genuinely be polite to customers instead of fake, clearly stressed attitudes. The owners need to look at spacing out the bookings more and hiring more staff, the overall vibe was tense, not fun unfortunately. it started with how we were greeted, and how we were rushed to pay our bill and vacate the table also. I get that it's a business and it needs to make money but, having been to many bottomless brunches, this was by far the most intense, especially...
Read moreA couple of weeks ago on a Saturday, I met up with some of my foodie friends in Leeds where we lunched at Olive Tree Brasserie (South Parade) and what a lunch it was. I think we underestimated the portion sizes as there wasn’t really a lunch/light bite meal option (The Meze Lunch offer is only available Monday to Friday 11am – 4pm which offers a selection of dishes at £14.95), otherwise I think we’d have opted for this. So safe to say I was full for the rest of the day after my feast.
My food was really good. I had my heart set on a Gyros so went with the Pork which came with Marinated grilled Pork, salad and tzatziki in a flatbread and seasoned fries (£10.95), but greedy little me also ordered a starter of Halloumi Pastourma (Greek cured beef sausage) which was delicious (GF £7.25). I enjoyed a lovely mocktail on my visit too; Berry Cup; Blackberry, blueberry, cranberry, apple, lemonade (£5.95).
The restaurant has a very open, light natural atmosphere. We were seated downstairs near the kitchen and it was still quite light with the windows and lots of plants, but upstairs looked an even more appealing area to dine indeed. A lovely setting for meeting friends for lunch in Leeds! I would advise to book a table ahead of your visit, especially if dining here over the weekend, as it was fairly busy.
Their A La Carte Menu consists of so much choice from Appetisers, Starters, Mains, Grill dishes, Meze, Sunday Dinner etc, including a wide range of Vegan Friendly plates. They also offer a Bottomless Brunch on a Saturday for 37.95pp with UNLIMITED food & drinks for 90 minutes! From eggs royale and kalamari, to avocado and halloumi PLUS unlimited drinks including; raspberry rush, prosecco, mimosa, aperol spritz and cold pints; it sounds like a decent city centre option. Enjoy 2-4-1 on cocktails at Olive Tree Brasserie Leeds Monday – Friday from 4pm – 8pm (2 of the...
Read moreDear Management,
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the service my companion and I received at your restaurant on Wednesday, January 31st, at approximately 1:00 p.m. While the establishment itself is undeniably beautiful, the service we encountered was far from satisfactory.
Upon arrival, we were immediately put off by the fact that the gentleman in the white shirt, who appeared to be a member of your Management” was preoccupied with his phone and completely ignored our presence. After finally being seated, we requested some table water, which took quite some time to arrive. To our surprise, the water was poured and then promptly taken away when it was only half full, which we found quite odd and unprofessional.
Subsequently, we waited an unreasonable 25 minutes for someone to take our food order, despite the fact that the restaurant was not particularly busy at the time. Frustrated by the lack of attention, we made the decision to leave. When we attempted to convey our dissatisfaction to the same gentleman in the white shirt, he dismissively responded with a simple "okay" and an unapologetic facial expression.
The overall experience left us feeling unwelcome and disheartened. As someone who appreciates good food and dining experiences, I am eager to give your restaurant another chance in the hope of enjoying your cuisine, provided that the service is more organized and attentive.
I sincerely hope that you will address these issues and take steps to rectify the situation. I believe that with improved service, your establishment has the potential to offer an exceptional dining experience, and I look forward to the opportunity to revisit in the future.
Thank you for your attention to this...
