The review below by kelly b is total rubbish. Firstly there is a difference between stealing and confiscation. Her and her friends were caught drinking their own alcohol in a pub which would not be tolerated in any bar or pub in the country. She then caused a large scene and exhibited threatening behaviour toward the staff. Which leads me on to my second point. Kelly b, the police would no doubt like to speak with you and your friends regarding the theft of my property (which was on loan to the pub), in which you were a participant. I'm guessing the alleged "disability" didnt deter you and your friends from committing theft too much then?? The only real victims out of kelly b's visit to the chemic tavern were me and the pub itself all because she and her buddies are morally inept. The Chemic Tavern is a brilliant place run by a friendly Landlady and serve a wide variety of alcoholic beverages. This pub is a community central point and i have made lots of friends there. I would just also like to say the pub staff were extremely supportive and helpful throughout everything. I wish them...
Read moreKelly's review below is an interesting work of fiction. Anyone thinking of taking her review seriously should note that she was not the target of any racial or ablist abuse, but was asked to leave when caught drinking her own booze and started an argument at the bar instead of peacefully going on her way. I happened to be stood next to her when she kicked off. At the time she denied drinking her own booze so it's good that she now admits to it. She then went on to steal an antique mask that had been lent to the pub to serve as decoration for an event they'd held the previous night.
It's also interesting that the only activity on her Google account is her single negative review. Almost like she just had an axe to grind because she was angry at having made a public fool of herself.
Rest assured the Chemic is not a place that tolerates...
Read moreGreat proper English pub, with an amazing selection of ale and a his of speciality gins and whiskey's. Bar staff are really friendly and actually had a non alcoholic beer on tap. We went to the open Mic night they have once a month, which showcased a very high standard of talent. And is clearly popular with locals and Leeds students. Can't speak for the Gents but the Lady's loos are also beautifully and uniquely decorated, worth a trip on their own! They have a car park at the rear but that was not brilliantly sign posted. The it reason this pub has lost a star in it's review is that access in a wheelchair is Incredibly difficult. I used my stick instead but if you are a full time chair user this place is sadly...
