Arrived at Viaduct at 7.30pm on Sunday 26th June. 5 ladies age range 34-58, so not your average younger clientel rolling around drunk! We had been out for a meal and drinks to celebrate 3 birthdays. All dressed well, not loud, or drunk. Advised by the bouncer it was £3 each entry as there was a show on at 9pm. £15 paid, all went in. Queued 15-20 mins at the bar before we even had our 1st and only drink. Sat near the window at the front, and began to enjoy ourselves. 4 of us were dancing and minding our own business, enjoying the music, out of the way of others in our own space. At 9.05pm a young girl dressed in black jeans, black t- shirt and scruffy black and white Vans ( blonde shoulder length hair and glasses) came up the steps and abruptly shouted at one of my friends "put ya shoes on!!" And waltzed off to the doorway. My friend was now sat putting her shoes on( which were high heels and had given her a blister, hence she took them off). I asked what had just happened and when she told me, I decided to go ask the little upstart why she did what she did. As I approached her outside she signalled to the bouncer a neck chop and mouthed ' get rid of them'!! I asked why, after 1 snd a half hours of dancing with no shoes on, she was ordered to putbthem on now, to which she replied ' cos ive just started my shift and seen her with no shoes on!' So, no one else who worked there was bothered but her? I am a 54 Yr old professional lady who didn't need getting rid of! I went inside and was followed by the bouncer as he was going to escort us out of the building. I have never in my lifetime of having nights out been asked to leave a bar. I am astounded. We never got to see the drag show we had paid for, and to top it all, it was radio'd across to Fibre not to let us there either. The bouncer at Fibre was dumbfounded as to what had happened and why we were asked to leave but said he had to follow orders. That young scruffy , bedraggled little wanna-be manager/supervisor definitely needs leadership and customer service coaching urgently. It wasn't even a nice place to be in, the toilets were disgusting and the stench of strong urine was overpowering. The whole place needs a good scrub and clean. Avoid...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEntered the bar with a few friends, after paying Ā£10per person for entry. My round so I ordered drinks, one for myself, one for a friend and a third for another friend. Bar tender said that one of my friends should have a glass of water and try again in 20 minutes - Reasonable, however then refused service for the rest of the order. After another friend was successful at ordering he asked me to hold his drink while he went to the toilets. I took his drink. After a minute, bouncers approached me and asked me to leave. Not one of the bouncers could offer me an explanation other than one of my friends being intoxicated - I was asked to leave for holding the drink of another friend, yet the friend who was āToo drunk to be servedā was able to stay inside. I encouraged then to review the CCTV to prove that the drink I was holding hadnāt been consumed by myself, and asked a grand total of THREE bouncers who were ādealing with meā if I seemed at all too drunk, if I seemed a threat, if I came across as absolutely anything that would warrant me being asked to leave (For the record here - I donāt deal with confrontation well, having past traumas, three people telling me how I was āIn the wrongā was overwhelming, out of hand, and quite frankly excessive for the non aggressive temperament I have) I was offered no reason other than the exchange of a drink for my reason for being asked to leave. I find it absolutely pathetic that after calling the viaduct my safe space for a number of years that this is how I am treated and I point blank will never be asking my close friends and allies to join me in this space I considered safe and welcoming. I have never in my life felt so singled out, so attacked, so excluded from a space that I previously, for a number of years considered so welcoming. I will never again in my life put money in the pockets of anyone associated with this place after...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe visited last night for the first time. Booked the VIP seats at Ā£20 per person for the drag show and was so excited. When we arrived the bouncers were really rude and aggressive, pulled us out of line and accused us of having issues with him earlier in the night and refusing to let us in. When he realised he made a mistake and we had no contact with him earlier and showed him our Ā£180 booking he said fine go in. Then he proceeded to search our bags even down to flicking through money in one bag and opening the purse of another girl and flicking through that. He could have been trying to suggest we give him money to go in but that wasnāt actually said.
We then finally got in the bar and ask the bar staff where do we go and the staff said the show didnāt start till 8 but our booking said 7:30 and we had to arrive 15 minutes before so we were just waiting around. We finally got upstairs and realised we paid Ā£20 a person for a seat when unless you were front row you could not see the stage even when stood up. The drag queens were amazing and made a point of coming round and chatting to us but if Iād of know what I know now I wouldāve much preferred to stay downstairs where I could actually see the show, which actually didnāt start until 9pm.
We also made a booking as it said a bottle of Prosecco to share between 2 and after refurbishments were done turns out the deal doesnāt apply anymore. We did speak to the manager who gave us 1 bottle of Prosecco between 9 and a shot each which made it a little better but still disappointing we could not watch the show.
The bar staff were great itās just a shame about...
