This place used to be good. You could go in with your friends and have a nice laugh. But now it's not the same.
I understand the membership for events that happen in the second room. But when you get asked for membership on regular days and then the bar staff get aggressive towards you staying that you need to be a member to step foot on the premises, it's a bit stupid.
The first time I went to Wharf Chambers, I got accused of being sexist and homophobic because I didn't like it when a guy came on to me and got kicked out. I went back in a few months later and everything was fine from then until last night. As Leeds is in Yorkshire, you tend to hear the "Yorkshire Twang". I said to the bar staff in a nice way "Thanks love!" and put a tip in the tip jar. They then turned to me and said "Excuse me?! A place where everybody is welcome, you only pay by cash and the doors are so wide open that you feel free and at ease. The backyard smoking area enhabits a large pink blossom tree towering in the foreground over the old distant train tracks. A safe place to express and relax with free Vegan food and a smaller collective of booze. Live music and painting, friendly people, funny staff. We went to the bar to order a drink and were met by a woman with a vulgar attitude and no personality. Not only did she change the mood of the full group in one foul sentence. She also continued to be rude whilst we tried to ignore and order a drink. Eventually we dicided as a group to leave and were met with verbal abuse.
