We met here for a friend's leaving drinks. The drink prices are reasonable considering it is the City Centre. I just had a portion of chips that were very chunky and really nice with a homemade feel. My friends tried the chicken, veggie, and beef burgers. They all enjoyed their meal with my friend who had the beef burger saying it was amazing. One friend tried the meatball loaded chips, but I don't know what he thought about it. It was a decent portion, though. The staff were quite friendly and there's lots of separate seating areas for your group to enjoy a semi private space. There's also a garden area outside, which is great in summer and an additional seating area downstairs. One downside is that the toilets are a bit smelly, I think it's due to lack of ventilation as they're downstairs. They can cater for events and also have activities on. It's on the outskirts of the centre but right next to the NCP and bus station, so it's a great place to start or end your day. The doorway is a little narrow due to it being a very old pub, so I'm not sure how easy it would be to get a wheelchair inside. Also, the seating is on different levels, so only 3 seating areas are on the entrance level, which is also the level of the bar.

I believe I have been in this place before but thought I would pop in again so I did has from looking in from the outside it looks very warm also very inviting. Has soon has I walked through the door the bar staff were very accommodating has they don’t do Guinness but they do other stouts and thanks for the recommendation a very good stout indeed price wise fine by me has the place is just so clean & bright but is very spacious n open with a down stairs . They do food and I wish I had waited because I feel I missed out has the food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled delicious made me very jealous of the people that were already dining . This place will tailor to your needs drink wise also food & they have a friendly dog to greet you on entry .The staff very helpful place very clean just a really nice place to drink or dine back ground music chilled

Yummy Sunday roast, with one of the best yorkshire puddings I’ve ever had. Beef was pink but unfortunately quite chewy / sinewy. The chicken was apparently more like Nando’s which my friends enjoyed. The veg was exceptional! My favourite part to be fair, very well seasoned with fresh flavours. Mash was quite bland and dry. Overall a bit of a mixed plate. They were very obliging with an extra jug gravy of gravy for us when we asked. My friends ordered a side of cauliflower cheese which was huge and a meal in itself! They also had some fun beers on tap. Overall very good and would come back.

The food here was so terrible that my friends & I laughed about it for days afterwards. On reflection, it's actually despicable to think that they earnestly served what they served to us but we sure did enjoy laughing about it later. The chef on duty (Sunday afternoon) could possibly be the worst chef currently in employment. Now, I'm not a qualified chef myself but I know the basics... I'm fairly confident I'd do a better job - unfortunately I am being deadly serious. If you're looking for a good laugh (and if you've already eaten) then get yourself down to this place, order something from the menu and consider the money spent a transaction for entertainment; like a comedy or something. It's honestly so bad you have to see it to believe it! It's quite possible this place will become an ironic tourist attraction if they keep this chef in the kitchen. Honestly, order the "Gratinated macaroni"... Oh, God, I have tears in my eyes right now because I'm laughing so much at how badly the chef f*ed up the easier thing on the menu; it's so extremely hilarious to the point it becomes disturbing. I don't think I could make macaroni that bad if I were to substitute the cheese for rain water and the pasta for...
