Fantastic little establishment. Big enough venue to get a bit of an atmosphere and it not feel overcrowded, small enough to feel nice and cozy. Stopped here for a drink and a bite to eat and wasn’t disappointed. Good selection of beers and other alcoholic drinks plus selection of hot drinks, the coffee seemed popular. all typical Leeds pricing so nothing out of the ordinary. Had to try the ‘Yorkshire pudding burger’ although the beef was typically burger meat and my mate did enjoy I had the chicken and was less burger, more like grilled chicken breast, which wasn’t a bad thing, very tasty, chips/wedges were good, fluffy inside bit of crunch on the outside, just as I’d like them. If there was any disappointment it would have to be the accompanying gravy, there just wasn’t enough. All very good though, would definitely go back and try other things off the menu or even pop in for a coffee or beer.

Massive praises for the most dog friendly place ever! Been here twice recently & both times the dogs have been given as good a meal as I have had, on the house! There are also dog treats on the bar & water has been provided for them both times without me having to asking. The food itself is very tasty, with the breakfast butty being a winner I imagine at such great value. The homemade bread is lovely & different however I do think the rest of the sandwiches being over double the cost of the breakfast butty is a bit much... which is why I never order them I think. The vibe is very relaxed which I like with lots of different options for seating. Just be mindful that the kitchen is not open on certain days of the week, if you're going for food. Service is friendly, kind, quick & helpful. Thank you, we'll be back for sure!

We booked a table for a veggie Sunday roast. Never been before so didn't really know what to expect.

There looked to be 2 people working there and some guy just wandering around with his hood up who was maybe working? The table we were given was tiny and hadn't been cleaned as it was really sticky and had bits of food on it. Couldn't find anyone to clean it so ended up doing it ourselves. You go to the bar to order food which nobody told us about so had a bit of a confused wait until we realised.

The bar area was covered in dirty plates and cups which looked pretty gross. Food came with no cutlery which was the same with a few other people in there. Had to go and ask for some which came not long after that.

Luckily the food was pretty good and was good value for money. The veggie part of the roast is a spiced vegetable loaf type thing with cranberry which was nice. Would be interested in trying a few more things from the menu.

Service was pretty much non existent and the cleanliness was quite poor. I ever saw one of the bar staff stroking a dog outside and he came straight back in without washing his hands and served some other people their food which is not great at all.

I would probably go back again but won't be rushing. Definitely needs a good clean though and some training for...

3 of us called in an hour before our coach was due to leave. Thinking we had plenty time we ordered 3 breakfasts with drinks. Were told drinks would be bought up to us. After 25 minutes I went back down to enquire how much longer we would have to wait as we had a coach to catch and mentioned we hadn't received our drinks yet.The guy went to check with the kitchen . He returned and informed us it would be a couple of minutes. After about 5 minutes we got up to leave when the food finally arrived (still no drinks). We hurriedly ate our food minus the drinks. Went down to get a refund for the drinks we didn't get only to be told he couldn't do a refund as the manager wasn't in. We were offered a take out which wasn't feasible as we were carrying bags and it was raining heavily. The option was also offered to leave a contact number. Not happy do that either. Fairly decent food ( if not a little pretentious ) however the extremely poor customer service, not getting everything that we had PAID for and length of time to cook what in effect was a fry up was means I can only give a 1 star rating . I certainly wouldn't...

I've always had good experiences with Wapentake in the past, but after going for Sunday lunch recently, I'm not sure if I'd return.

It was quite busy and the staff seemed overwhelmed. It was easy to understand that's why they weren't particularly helpful or polite, but one of the staff who took our order was actually quite rude. She seemed confused by the menu and at one point, because she wasn't aware of one of the combinations (the chicken and gammon burger), snapped "well, if that's what you want." I was literally reading something from the menu!

Unfortunately the food on this occasion was plain poor. I ordered the vegan roast dinner for myself. The veg were a bit overcooked and the Yorkshire pudding was weird and sugary. I've had their vegan Yorkshire pudding before and it's usually great, but this tasted like it had been sat around in the fridge and absorbed the flavour of something else sweet. It was also chewy and hard to eat (again, not usually the case), so it clearly wasn't fresh. Everyone else's food was pretty poor - no specific issues we could complain about, just generally not very fresh and not very...
