So, I came into this place both today and yesterday. After yesterdays experience I thought I’d give it a second chance on my own to see if I enjoyed it anymore than I did the first time. Yesterday I came in with my girlfriend and her parents, immediately there are red flags such as tables not having numbers yet the menu being online, this to me is bizzare since it meant you have to have the menu up before entering. Also for elderly people or young people on limited contracts it can cause an issue by having an entry need; it could be rather off putting to some people. I moved past that and I understand that the staff are all new and the place has only just opened, however there’s still a certain level of service to be expected, presumably some of the staff will have a lot more experience than others but to see the ones I thought this to be the case of sat around on chairs in the restaurant or across the street was also a red flag. Anyway, the food comes and we’ve ordered it. Now a classic burger to me is just a bog standard cheese burger with a mellow sauce. This burgers sauce is not that; it’s actually quite distracting to the rest of the burger. I had the bazooka burger and in fairness that wasn’t too bad. We asked for salt and got told none was available and that sauces are an extra charge, I understand you’ve got low prices but Mayo and ketchup are house hold sauces I feel as though they should be readily available. Furthermore the fries I found to be under seasoned and pale, a shame really since they could be nice if done for just a touch longer and seasoned a bit more. Now I’m not going to knock your ingredient quality, again low prices mean cost cuts and this is to be expected, but it’s about the presentation of the meal and the overall taste and that’s where I found a lot of the food lacking. Today I came in and had the Pringles Tenders (which seem to be a light in a lot of dark since they were actually very good) and a burger with both a chicken and beef patty, and an overwhelming amount of cheese sauce, too much I’d say and it gives a horrible taste at the end of each bites. I found on both occasions the drinks were extremely small, for the price paid especially. Now upon leaving I ordered a cheesecake (taste of heaven I believe it was called) which felt a bit like it’s been sat out too long and somehow even though you’ve only just reopened the ice cream had a level of freezer burn. I think there’s a lot of potential here and I believe that could come true, you just need to find a way to achieve this. I hope to come back in the future and have no complaints, and hopefully...
Read moreBetsy’s X Little Dessert Shop offers a unique blend of dining experiences, combining the savory delights of Betsy’s with the sweet treats from Little Dessert Shop. The location is conveniently situated, making it a great spot for a casual meal or a quick dessert stop. Upon entering, the decor and lighting immediately catch the eye. The ambiance is enhanced by impressive musical artwork adorning the walls, creating a vibrant yet cozy atmosphere. The furniture and seating are of good quality, providing a comfortable dining experience. While I'm not typically a fan of Little Dessert Shop, the integration with Betsy’s has managed to elevate the overall experience. Although I haven’t yet tried the burgers or fries, the dessert offerings unfortunately, don't quite hit the mark in terms of flavor and quality.
However, the staff are a standout positive. Their politeness and excellent customer service significantly enhance the dining experience, making every visit pleasant.
In summary, Betsy’s X Little Dessert Shop is a promising spot with a fantastic atmosphere and commendable service. While the desserts may not be the highlight, the savory menu items are...
Read moreI took my mum, sister and partner here for a late mothers day treat after my mum had been ill. We had a wowcher which my my partner had used another one previously. From the moment we walk through the door the man behind the counter who I take to be the manager didn't appear to want us there. Saying we should have booked yet the wowcher says that there was no need, and there we only 2 other tables taken with 90% of the tables empty. We ordered coffee and our savoury waffles and then waited for the food whilst drinking the coffee. The food turned up around 10 mins later which was only half of what we expected. We complained to the waitress who then sent over the manager who was rude and didn't listen to us at all. My partner and her daughter had used the same wowcher and got the more than what the 4 of us had. We were totally flabagasted by the managers negative attitude to say the wowcher was to promote the business then that has had a reverse effect and none of us will ever go there again and we have also mentioned it to all our friends etc in Lichfield!
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL...
