The staff seemed overall nice and polite. We went in during the day but the unit is an old bank and poorly lit and they did not switch on any of the lights so seeing the menu was a slight challenge depending on where you sat. Also felt a bit dingey. Otherwise decor was great and very nice and clean. The staff on our visit did not understand English. We used Google translate to communicate and asked if there was a sweet drink. They suggested something that was not sweet lol. We pointed at food in the menu and one of our mains came wrong. We tried to get someone's attention but a group of people came in and staff remained talking to them for a time. No one came to check the food, when we got their attention they were apologetic and seemed to understand the mistake straight away and offered to fetch the right thing. I finished my main and starter and my friend's meal never arrived. After over 15-20 minutes after I finished, we called it a day and asked to pay. No one could tell us how long the food would be even when we asked. Communication was not the easiest but everyone seemed very polite. They charged me for the meal they did not provide. I complained which is always uncomfortable to do. When a refund was required an English speaking member of staff finally came out. This was a suprise as if this person was already there it may have been easier to understand what happened and we may not have been overcharged or got the wrong food. This person refunded the meal we did not get plus a £1.50 extra discount on a £30-odd bill. The food had a great tast but there was very little meat in it, was mainly mashed potato or pastry which both tasted nice. Considering the cost I would have expected some more meat or something more the food was okay. The coffee I had was the best I had in ages. Parking is around the corner and costs...
Read moreAfter a highly anticipated wait to eat here, and travelling just over 100 miles, trekking cross-country, I can safely safe this restaurant is worth more than its weight in gold. Along with my girlfriend, we came during a quiet time and even still the atmosphere was extremely pleasant. It was very clean, and put off a homely, traditional vibe that can't be replicated in other establishments. Despite our eyes being bigger than our appetite, we still managed to eat more than our weight and some, with plenty left to take home. The food was top class, freshly made and of high quality. A particular stand out for me was the Borscht, which as a first time experience, left nothing to be desired. I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone who enjoys a nice cosy and comfortable environment in which to enjoy mouth-watering homemade food, to visit here!! 10/10 would come...

We ordered the cherry varenyky and it was an absolute delight. Soft dough, juicy filling — like summer wrapped in every bite. Every dish was prepared with care and felt deeply rooted in culture, yet refined and modern.
The staff were warm and attentive, happy to share the story behind each dish. You can feel the pride in every detail — from the flavors to the service. It’s more than just dinner — it’s a celebration of Ukrainian soul through food.
Final verdict? If you haven’t been here yet — you haven’t truly experienced the taste...
