Stop this tipping madness! I don't need to be told how much to tip you! Firstly I really wanted to leave a great review for this place as the food was lovely but when I get my bill, it tells you how much you should be tipping and adds it to the total....no!, I will tell you how much I'll tip thank you! Firstly, the guy with his hair in a bun on the front desk was miserable and not welcoming at all. We had 2 glasses on our table for water, which never arrived and wasn't offered. The girl serving us was lovely and smiley, which was nice considering the initial welcome we had. We ordered 6 meals between 2 of us but shortly after ordering, the waitress told us one of the meals they couldn't do as they had ran out (which is completely fine) however the girl said she would give my girlfriend a minute to find a replacement. She never came back, so I had to stop another waitress who had already started delivering plates to our table. My girlfriend was struggling to cut through her steak with the cutlery provided so I asked politely to the guy with a bun, if we could get a steak knife to which he replied "no, those are the only knifes we have" in his miserable tone we had already witnessed on arrival. I had to ask a member of staff if my lasagne had been forgotten as we had finished all 5 other dishes and was told that it took the longest (other meals should have been held back if this was the case) but i had to eat 5 minutes after we had already finished everything else. The food was delicious, I might add. Hence, the 5 star rating for food.

Now here is the niggling issue.

I am perfectly happy to tip for great service and even though certain parts of my service was not tip worthy, we both thoroughly enjoyed the food and I was happy to leave more than the 10% expected tip.

I asked for the bill and was shocked to find the bill telling me I should be giving 10% tip, even working it out for me and adding it to the total. I am perfectly capable of working out 10% thank you.

Our bill came to £81 and I was paying cash, so I put £90 on the plate. Now, usually at classy restaurants, they bring you your change, and you leave an appropriate tip. Sadly, the waitress came to take the money and said, "Do you want the change" which after that, i was very close to saying "yes i do,"

Now, even after the few service issues and bad attitude from the guy at the front desk, I was going to leave a 5 star review. However, the whole expecting a tip and working it out for me on the receipt I find absolutely disgusting, we are not Americans, we never will be, tipping culture is not a thing in the UK, get a grip and remove it from your receipts. In the UK, we tip for exceptional service, you don't just get a tip for giving the...

Visited Bacaro on the recommendation of a friend for my partners birthday and I’ve honestly never been so appalled over service. We were really disappointed as it looks beautiful from the outside and for the price you’re expected to pay one would assume that it would be the best quality. So why was ours such a bad experience? First the service - as someone who actively works in the hospitality industry I can safely say that the restaurant wasn’t busy so for me there was little reason why we had to wait over 20 minutes just to get our drinks ordered, 40 minutes to get our food ordered and upto an hour for anything to arrive at the table - bear in mind that two tables arrived after we did and got everything before we did - it seemed the waitress in our section was more concerned about serving the young, attractive men behind us (who as stated above arrived later then we did) as she stood with them for a good 15 minutes while ignoring us 🙄 Next the food which fell far from expectation. My mother in law and I ordered the same meal (the slow cooked beef tagliatelle) and the two turned up, in two very different states, were my portion was half the size of my mother in laws, hers was lukewarm. My partner (crab linguine) also had a lukewarm meal. Father in law was the only one satisfied with his meal (Beef lasagne.) In addition to this a side that we ordered just failed to turn up at the table and we finally got it 20 minutes after the rest of the food after flagging down a waitress. I debated adding the pettier stuff in this review as I’m not the type to leave a bad review but I feel as though it all just added to how miserable our experience was. The cutlery wasn’t polished (this is something I do in my own job, it’s not hard) water was brought to the table without any glasses to drink it with and as it became apparent that we were not having a good time the staff seemed to come by us less and less often as opposed to trying to fix the issue and spoke to us rudely when we eventually had to call one of them over. It got so bad that the manager that evening cut the bill completely which we were grateful for however it would have been nice to have just enjoyed a good meal. I’ve never left a bad review before and I wish I didn’t have to as we had such high hopes for the evening. Overall just very disappointed as the menu and restaurant look beautiful, think I’ll stick to bold street...

We've been going to Bacaro for several years now and I can honestly say that I have never had a bad experience there. Customer service is first class and quick! No waiting for food in here!

The interior is very nicely done with chilled out music playing nonchalatly in the background giving a relaxed atmosphere - although the hustle bustle of the service is going on around you.

We've both pre-booked our table and walked in. Sometimes there's a wait for walk-ins but mostly we've been seated almost immediately.

We we're last there on Sunday 1st August 2021. We walked in at around 3pm and was seated 👍🏼

we ordered a carafe of Rose wine sangria. It was light and refreshing yet gave us the giggles, well me anyway.

Foodwise we went for the Beef Croquets which were deliciously beefy! I had the excellent Milanese Chicken with house salad. The lovely other dinosaur had the OMG lamb tagliatelle which I'm told melted in her mouth. We both had the fries with the incredibly tasty Fennel ketchup and aioli dips.

Next was two pizettes. For me a blue cheese with mushrooms and a mozzerella, tomato and basil one for her. I love the ceremony of the cutting of the pizette with the cutter anxiously waiting for the pizette to break apart so you can pick it up and start eating. I often find people are already riping it off as you are cutting, risking a digit to get that gorgeousness in their mouths! Both pizettes were incredibly oozy and oh so moreish!

So after enough food to sink a battleship it had to be yet another carafe of the rose sangria to wash it all down!

After much gabbing (by the lovely other dinosaur of course) and much listening (by me) it was now 5.30pm. Two and a half hours had passed by in the blink of an eye.

The bill was paid and we left.

Einstein's theory of time and relativity was so complex he explained it in this way . . .

When you put your hand on the red hot ring of a cooker - although the pain is only for fraction of a second - it seems like it's forever. When you are in the company of a beautiful woman - hours go by in minutes!

You only live once. Eat good food, drink good wine, enjoy good company. Go to Bacaro and enjoy every...

We stumbled upon Bacaro on a Thursday evening in January. We walked in around 8pm and even though the place was packed they were able to accommodate us at the bar. We started with a couple of drinks, I opted for the Aperol Bourbon sour which was a sweet and interesting twist on a whisky sour which was a lovely palette cleanse before our meal. My girlfriend opted for a glass of Prosecco. Both were delivered quickly by the friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us and to help us with the menu. I started with the burrata and Arancini, both were out of this world. I LOVE Arancini and consider myself a bit of a connoisseur and the roast pepper and harissa was amazing. The Buratta came with black olive chimichurri which really complimented the creaminess. For my main I was recommended the Pan Roast Hake which was melt in the mouth. My partner is gluten free and they had an entire gluten free menu. She opted for the Beef Carpaccio, followed by the Carbonara Pizzette and the GF prawn pasta that came with fresh, meaty king prawns. In truth she ordered too much (I helped her out!) but the pizzette was delicious especially considering it was gluten free. The egg mixed with caramelised red onion was great. We finished off with a couple of mojitos to neutralise the garlic. All in all it was a brilliant dining experience in an area that is actually pretty touristy being only a stones throw from The Cavern. The price was fair for the quality and if you were on a budget you could definitely order less and still walk away with full bellies and semi full wallets. Would highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Quite a bog standard Italian. We also really didn’t appreciate the food coming out at random times. They bulk make peoples orders so everyone who’s ordered chicken will all get it at the same time. It meant we were left waiting for food when we had finished everything and tables coming in way after us were served before us. We also asked for mayonnaise, we’re told it was garlic mayo and then given garlic and tarragon mayo which was so heavy on the tarragon it was gross. I hate tarragon and wish this was mentioned. On top of that they then charged us for the mayo! Unfortunately I think Italian is all about the ingredients and we just didn’t enjoy a lot of the food that much. The burrata salad had capers on which wasn’t stated on the menu, cherry tomatoes not heritage and a cheap tasting olive oil. The potato pizzetta was the star of the show, it was so good and delicious. The foccacia was homemade and lovely and warm and the chips were delicious. Unfortunately the fennel sausage and nduja ragu was really weird with no nduja and the chorizo sausages were boring. Overall not the best meal and not exactly cheap either.
