Came here tonight really looking forward to visiting one of our favourite real ale pubs in Liverpool.

Obviously Covid is on the increase again, was the Baltic fleet bothered , absolutely

not. Yes they have a one way system in place (not being adhered to at all ) why because the two girls behind the bar were either too busy eating, drinking , wiping their mouths then serving customers with no hand cleansing at all, we watched for half an hour . Big lad behind the bar with ginger beard. Collected all the glasses, hands inside every glass, then went massaging his mates shoulders (4 congregating at the bar, not allowed ) he

then went back behind the bar never once cleaned his hands. Is Covid on the increase YES this is one of the reasons. Please keep away if you...

Visited this pub last night and ordered 3 pints of a nice cherry flavoured beer. Enjoyed everything about the pub until I left.

When I got home I checked my bank account to discover I was charged £20 exactly for those three pints. This left a sour taste in my mouth when I realised how expensive the drinks were but also that the figure must of just been made up by the member of staff as £20 doesnt even divide by three.

Unless the staff member has tipped themselves without my permission or just rounded up without even asking. Therefore I cant reccomend this pub to anybody if they are just making up the prices of their drinks as they go.

Going forward I'll have to start checking the contactless terminals before tapping my card...

Very historic pub. Recommended by a friend that drank there 28 years ago. A real old world pub, a last bastion of the old docks surrounded by the glass and steel transition of a new Merseyside. It is real spit and sawdust but so welcoming, especially with the woodburner going. Great selection of ales including some brewed by the pub. Holty, James sends his regards..... Lots of stuff on the walls and although most of the pub is accessible there are parts with steps. Some onstreet parking but if you are using the local YHA as a base.....it is about 2mins down the road so a great place for a last tipple on the way back form the...

The Baltic Fleet is an impressive grade ll listed flat iron shaped building. There is a wide choice of beers lager and cider including some very nice hand pulled cask conditioned real ales, the ones i sampled were in excellent condition. The pub has a modern contemporary look. There is plenty of covered outside seating. My big complaint is that the pub is card only ! I have never before been in a pub that doesn't accept cash. I usually only carry cash, it was only by chance i had a card with me so I was able to get a drink. The card only policy will put me off visiting again.

Often come here when we've been walking from Aigburth down the waterfront to the Albert Dock. It's just on the right as you come out of the dock. It's just a small walk on the other side of the dock road dual carriageway. I believe its now a Grade 2 listed building. It has quite a history going back to the nineteenth century and has a very unusual triangular construction. Haven't tried the food in here recently so can't comment on that but they usually have a great choice of real ales and beers.

The Baltic fleet is one of those iconic Liverpool pubs which I've driven past hundreds of times, but never previously visited, in spite of them, like me, owning an old Mini Van. I'm very glad I finally did make the effort though, passing along the dock road from Cain's brewery complex, and finding in the Baltic Fleet a reminder that there is something inimitable and impossible to fake about a proper old school pub's atmosphere and heritage. I hope it's still there in decades to come.
