Went in mothers day evening ,was really looking forward to it as hadn't eaten all day ..,had poppadoms chutney ,lovely..then ordered a chicken tikka jalfrezzi..omg ...bland ,plain ,soggy thin peppers that looked like the frozen type..no taste ..,chicken tikka hard & chewy as if it was re-heated ,soggy onions ,no jalapeno or chillies in sight, pilau rice ,white & greasy ...REALLY disgusting as it was £ 20 ..overpriced ,ate 2 mouthful s then told waiter ,he was pleasant but approached a man called Tony manager (he said )explained I was not happy & got a free mug 4 poppadoms & chutneys to take out .no mention of a refund...( he gave others mugs whilst I was there !! ),my daughters had paid for it £80 + ..apparently as I said nothing to waiter when he first asked if it was ok there was no refund available.I didn't say anything as the word I used was sh.te ..ridiculous, I was so hungry , my 2 daughters meals were ok ,chicken tikka massalla.. I worked in an Indian restaurant ..,fabulous flavours ...Will NEVER set foot in there again ,East is East got recommended as great ,but I picked up a chicken jalfrezzi & pilau rice ..yummy ......REALLY tasty .. Asda (ready meal ) in chilled section ,lovely ,great flavour s ..under £4 ..sooooo much nicer than East is East ..would stay clear of it ..😖👎giving it half a star as Tony was nice ..not the food ..left feeling dissatisfied...

Atmosphere slight dipped on the star rating but only due to i did attend after 9pm on a monday and not alot og people in there so cant get true feel for athmosphere
I cant put a 4 as slightly higher but not really a 5 due to 1 item The edge of the lettuce was starting to brown thats only change that voulf happen more fresh salad
We had starters and main, if you are not hungry id advise share a meal
Look at my photos starters are large porsions, chips and rice also large And the currys have alot of meat Which is all great i suspect most people take some home which they also allow So thumbs up for allowimg this
I saw people say its expensive if say not really yes 20 for a starter is high but when u get 8 pieces of pakora or 4 large onion bhajis ots enough for 2 So only 10 each as a guide
Do be aware of the popadoms wgere i go locally to my home co fiments are part of this, but here you get a pickle tray at 4.50
Its for sure a sharer pickle tray and fair price but just so you are aware
Over all good service, staff are happy and polite...
Read moreWe were given a lovely welcome as soon as we entered this very tastefully decorated restaurant, and the lovely corner table we were given was very spacious for the three of us. We were offered drinks and starters within a couple of minutes of being seated and the young white female who served us couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. The food we had was absolutely amazing; my son said the chicken pakora was the best he's ever had, and the papadoms and pickle tray were also delicious with an amazing variety of pickles etc on the tray. My son was delighted with his king prawn biryani which he said was full of flavour and succulent prawns, and our main dishes comprising of lamb were also very tasty. The bill came to just under £70.00 including drinks which we thought was reasonable for the three of us, and we gladly gave the lovely waitress a 10% tip for her excellent service. Next time we visit Liverpool from Edinburgh we wil definitely be coming back to EastZEast, and wouldn`t hesitate to recommend this fantastic ...
