Good: the venue is clean and there is an entire upstairs area dedicated to coworking (although not many outlets, and poor wifi… more on this below)
Bad: the purpose of my visit was coworking. I ordered tea and a pain au chocolat. The pastry was average, something you could get out of a packet at the supermarket, not flakey at all.
I struggled to connect to the wifi due to it not accepting my phone number. I reported to staff and was immediately told “there’s nothing we can do about it”. Which is fine but I bought a rubbish pastry and a cup of tea for the privilege 😂 Eventually one of the girls validated that her number wouldn’t work either but figured out you didn't need to provide one to access the wifi - yay!
I ventured back upstairs to connect my devices to the wifi. The wifi was SO SLOW, even though there was only 2 of us upstairs using it. The music was also so loud. With the music blasting, nothing loading properly on my laptop and the regret over £5 badly spent, I left to another cafe, 200 Degrees Coffee.
Coworkers, give this one a miss. 200 Degrees is much better, from the ambience to the wifi. (Although I haven’t tried a pastry from there as I was full from the...
Read moreRuined experience, unfortunately! I was extremely excited to try it out & it was among the three specialty cafes I had specifically and carefully researched for before visiting Liverpool.
Once there, I specifically asked for a less than standard milk temperature & reassured JUST about warm like 50-55 degrees. The cashier didn’t seem to pay attention or care, and I literally couldn’t touch the cup due to its heat!
I hate it when milk is heated above 60 because even if it cools down it still doesn’t taste as smooth as if originally was just about warm.
I did not ask them to remake it because I did not like the vibe of the cashier & most importantly I did not like the beans taste. The beans tasted like ‘sand’—ish & the milk tasted watery. No special taste at all. I just drank less than a quarter of the drink & literally couldn’t finish the rest (Btw, the beans I chose was their...
Read moreLocated not far from Liverpool One, nice coffee shop with quite a few drinks options, including non caffeinated ones. Their cakes are fresh and very tasty, I had the carrot cake with pistachios and orange zest, the flavours weren't too much and it tasted like normal carrot cake. There is some seating downstairs and the rest is upstairs. The queue can build up quite quickly but staff are polite and friendly. I appreciate they are working as fast as they can but it can get a bit chaotic with the amount of orders, if something runs out, trying to tell the customer etc. Might be better if peak times they could have more staff because then the tables get dirty and remain cluttered. No fault of the staffs though, they were very nice. We went around 12pm on a Saturday. Enough space for buggies and wheelchair users to...
