Absolutely dreadful food and service. AVOID or waste your money at your own peril, it’s your choice. We were visiting for Comic Con & rented an apartment with StayCityAppts staying opposite the Liver Birds just behind Moorfield station. I ordered online with Uber Eats, (heavily raining outside) otherwise Bold St is just a 10 minute walk away. They took my order and said it would be with us in a maximum of 15 mins. They kept increasing their ETA. Took over 1 hour since placing the order to deliver it to us. Many excuses. Upon opening the food the Butter Chicken wrap was cold, flat as a pancake, with hardly any filling at all (like just 2 roti’s stuck together with a spread of curry). Lost for words. Next the Mac n Cheese Desi style - in the photo that’s how full the box was before taking a tiny forkful, it was cold, congealed stodge all glued together with masses of Kashmiri strong chilli powder sprinkled on top, took fork to mouth to try testing the stodge (was starving) but too hot and inedible regardless. Wasn’t worth reheating in the microwave. Straight in the bin. The aloo paranthas cold, burnt, flat as anything, hardly any aloo stuffing and something your mother would disown you for if you ever served that up for breakfast. Chai was ok, mediocre. BAS/Enough. Went out in the rain to go grab something from McDonald’s to feed the hunger. I’ve never left a bad review EVER but this food and service WOW its on another level lower than low. Don’t be fooled by the reviews and shop elsewhere. Garam Masala Hot Chocolate laughs. Son said just like hot milk no taste. These reviews on here are beyond me, praising this joint and influencing my choice cos we are desi family. Save your money....
Read moreDear Chaiwala,
I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the quality of chai that you offer at your establishment. The flavor and aroma of your tea are truly exceptional, and I am consistently satisfied with every cup I have had the pleasure of enjoying.
On the other hand, I feel compelled to address a concern regarding the quality of your somusas. I regret to inform you that I have found them to be below par. The taste and texture are not up to the standard I would expect from your establishment. I kindly request that you take this feedback into consideration and make the necessary improvements to ensure the consistent quality of your somusas.
Additionally, I would like to bring your attention to the cleanliness of the tables at your establishment. On numerous occasions, I have observed that the tables are not adequately cleaned. There seems to be a buildup of dirt and debris, which greatly diminishes the overall experience for customers. I kindly request that you address this matter with urgency and ensure that the tables are thoroughly cleaned regularly.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could relay these concerns to your staff. Their attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and hygienic environment will undoubtedly enhance the overall experience for customers like myself.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email. I truly value your commitment to providing excellent chai, and I sincerely hope that my feedback regarding the somusas and table cleanliness will be taken into consideration. I look forward to continuing to enjoy your delicious chai in a clean and inviting...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting Chaiiwala in Liverpool, 5A Bold Street, Liverpool L1 4DJ England, and let me tell you, it was an absolute disaster from start to finish.
Upon entering the restaurant with a friend, we were greeted by the sight of a screen to order food. We went ahead and placed our orders, only to be abruptly informed by a lone staff member (who seemed to be running the show) that the restaurant was closed. Closed? Then why the heck was the ordering screen even on?!
As if that wasn't bad enough, when we explained that we were in a rush to catch a flight and our money had already been deducted, the staff member displayed the epitome of rudeness. She had the audacity to blame us, saying we should have somehow known the place was closed. How on earth were we supposed to know when everything appeared operational?
The argument escalated unnecessarily, with the staff member showing no empathy or willingness to understand our situation. Eventually, after realizing we were indeed in a hurry, she begrudgingly offered to refund our money. However, since we had paid by card (which happened to be from Ireland), we were hit with additional tax deductions when the refund was processed. Unbelievable!
In summary, Chaiiwala Pathetic is aptly named. From their deceptive appearance of being open when they're not, to their abysmal customer service and lack of accountability, this establishment is an absolute disgrace. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place...
