Read moreLast night was the first time I've been to Electrik since it was the Krazyhouse 3 years ago. I was pleasantly surprised by the overhaul of the toilets and the new booths/seating areas. The DJs were doing a fantastic job, and I think the place was at its full capacity. However, the amount of bar staff serving was ridiculous, it was literally one member of staff to about 50 people waiting. Two separate bartenders got my orders wrong and I was charged £27 at one point for what should have been a £15 round. I think that will be the last time I go to this venue - although I appreciate the efforts made to revamp it up and I do think it has the potential to thrive if it offered more of a heavy metal scene again. An additional point is the fact that the venue didn't require a vaccine pass or a negative covid result to get in which is extremely dangerous. Myself and 4 friends have been very ill since Sunday with some kind of bug. One has tested positive for covid 3 days later. Christ knows what was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReally cool place! Caters for everyone as there are 4 floors (I think! It's a bit of a maze!) each with different music genres. Very good prices for a club, and very efficient service at the many bars. Lots of security but in a good way, friendly on the door and made you feel safe. Also they have a cloakroom!
Only after leaving did I realise this was where Krazyhouse used to be. Lots of reviewers seem angry that they don't do rock/metal anymore. I love rock/metal but also Krazyhouse used to be completely empty and now this place is rammed (but not too rammed) so unfortunately I can't blame them. Having said that, some responses seem to indicate that they still have a metal room on Saturdays although we were there on Saturday and I don't think there was a metal room? Unless we just couldn't find it because it's so huge haha!
I'd say 5 stars...
