I finally had the pleasure of visiting this well revered eatery after years of hearing friends speak volumes of the food and I can definitely say with confidence Fazenda is a fantastic experience!
The locale is extremely premium, offering luxury dining in a quiet back quarter of Liverpool, with a stunning and exquisite atmosphere and ample seating to even make a busy evening feel like a quiet dine.
The restaurant attendees, wait staff, chefs, and tablemen have exceptional mannerisms, seating us promptly and offering us thorough explanations of the dining experience.
We were offered drinks and our dietary requirements were thoroughly catered for! Our party was 3 persons in size, 2 of which required halal food. Wait staff brought out distinctly different plates with a coloured rim to assist chefs and servers in easily identifying halal customers.
The salad bar was brilliantly presented with an overwhelming array of choices from sweetcorn, salad and sundried tomatoes, to all sorts of cheese, crackers, condiments, chilli oils, various salts, chimichurri and kimchi - this section was a phenomenal selection with tons of variety.
Our waitress Sarvin deserves top compliments for our experience that evening as despite the evening rush she ensured we were regularly catered to and checked on to preserve our dining experience. Sarvin was especially sure to distinguish the halal from the non halal.
The food was incredible, served at a generous pace with clear respect of the disc system. Portion sizes were very large and the evening selections were great. Mouthwatering and tender meat cuts of all kinds served well and cooked perfectly medium rare. A few personal favourites included the top side, rump steak, and sirloin.
The sides were also overly delicious, we were recommend 2 a piece which was aplenty, from parmesan fries to roast potato with chilli and aioli, to brazillian bread with truffle cheese sauce and sweet potato with feta - all the sides were great compliments to the main course.
The wine selection was also very respectable with 0% options available alongside fairly priced and enjoyable cocktails/mocktails.
We quickly found ourselves feeling very full due to the temptation of the delicious meats quickly feeding our appetites, but made sure to try as much as we could.
Another compliment I'd like to pay is to Andres, who we saw serving roasted pineapple on a skewer with ham above it; although the meat was not touching the fruit, Andres without being asked offered to get us freshly prepared pineapple which wasn't sharing a platter with ham. This act of selflessness is remarkable and should be recognised with great appreciation alongside Sarvins service!!
The facilities such as the bathrooms and cleaning stations were also very polished and the price was very fair coming to £55 a head.
Fazenda delivered a great dining experience for us all and we will be sure to try the...
Read moreHaving heard great things about Fazenda, I booked a table for 12 to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday last night, 16th of November. Unfortunately, a few guests dropped out last minute, so I informed the staff upon arrival. They explained there would be a penalty fee of £10 per person, which was understandable. I also confirmed it was my girlfriend’s birthday and requested a surprise dessert for her.
Soon after being seated, one of the guests who had initially cancelled let us know they were now able to join. I immediately informed the staff, expecting them to adjust our seating. After 10 minutes with no action, I followed up and was asked, “Are you sure they’re coming?” When I confirmed, the host simply added a chair to the existing table, despite the tight space. I asked if they could bring over an adjacent free table instead but was told, “This is not possible.” Only when the guest arrived and couldn’t sit down did they finally add another table, as originally requested.
Despite this rocky start, we tried to enjoy the evening. Once seated, we ordered drinks and expected to order food. Instead, meat dishes from the unlimited menu began arriving at the table without anyone confirming our choices. My girlfriend had wanted a specific dish from the menu, but rather than cause a scene, she reluctantly went along with the unlimited option.
As the evening progressed, it became clear that we were only being served cheaper cuts of meat. Meanwhile, other tables nearby were receiving premium options. We had to specifically request fillet steak, which didn’t arrive until we were already too full to enjoy it. Adding to the frustration, we weren’t informed that various cuts of meat were available depending on how we like them cooked so it was assumed that what we were given was the only option - this was only mentioned at the end of the meal again when specifically asking, therefor a few of us didn’t eat much of the meat.
The final disappointment came when the surprise birthday dessert I had requested never arrived. While neighboring tables received theirs, we were ignored. When I brought this up while settling the bill, the host casually offered to bring the dessert out then, showing a lack of accountability. By this point, the evening was already ruined.
I asked for the discretionary service charge to be removed, which the host reluctantly did without any apology.
Overall, the experience was deeply disappointing. Fazenda failed to meet even basic expectations for service and quality, especially given the occasion. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this...
Read moreAlthough we arrived and a member of our party was late, the staff were very understanding and happy to let us wait at the bar until our friend arrived and we were seated. Once seated and given our menus we went to the salad bar where I got a selection of things such as prawns, salad and dips like mustard. Although some of these things weren’t clearly labelled flavour wise, such as not being specific about what kind of prawns were on the table and how they were prepared. I found there was a good selection of items especially for light bites, I’d recommend saving room for the other items more so though. The sides such as the Feijoada and empanada tasted lovely, Feijoada was very warm, moorish and had that savoury salty taste I was hoping for. Although I’ve not quite seen empanadas traditionally appearing like this one, which had a large crimped area and flat base. It tasted lovely and went great with the hot dip it came with, paired well with the main food while having more of a mixture of things inside like veggies/chicken. As of the main thing I was excited for, the meat. We got a selection of many things including Rump, Picanha, Ribeye, wagyu sausage, honey gammon and lamb. It was great for the most part with most meat items feeling different in taste although lacking seasoning I’d say, I was rather disappointed by the “fillet” which when it came out looked nothing like fillet and rather fatty, some of the requested cuts of my meat were a bit over my preference of rare also. I had to many favourites however to choose from and despite the lack of seasoning I found myself enjoying many of the meats offered. Something noteworthy which was rather disappointing, our waiter didn’t ask if we wanted to see any meats come out until we were already a couple hours into eating and almost finished. Luckily one of the meat servers was particularly helpful on the night, once he started coming to the table he was frequently asking if we’d like to see anything. Although I enjoyed my visit here and sides even as small as fries taste lovely and well seasoned. It can be hard to say I’d return often due to the price mostly and that certain areas of our experience should have been a bit better because of this. If you have a good amount of money to spare however or it’s a special occasion, it’s probably worth trying for the red and green card concept. Which indicates when you want more of the unlimited meat, where the server coming with what they have will ask what cook you’d like ? Such as rare, medium rare and how much of...
