TSUJIRI Matcha House — Restaurant in Liverpool

👍The coffe man was so kind, he recommended me to have the👍 matcha hot chocolate, which was just the right sweetness and it was very flavourful! Also the colour of the matcha is so satisfying to the eyes. The tiny marshmallows were so cute and went well with the drink 10/10

👍The roll cake is moist and fluffy and the cream filling is lovely, it had a nice scent and was not heavy! 10/10

👎The only bad thing is that the cake was served in a cardboard paper thingy and the cutlery was one of those wood one-use spoons, so the mouthfeel and the scraping of paper on paper disturbed me a bit, for the price you pay it would be nice to have it on a plate or even just on the nice board they give out with an actual spoon but if you are not fussy like me it's ok. I understand it's easier to just throw it away than clean it so yeah.

I lost my receipt but i think it was £10 something for the total.

Will come back to try the cheesecake and ice cream!

Oh the place has tables and also a bigger raised table(?) were you can sit on the floor. Very cute idea i think you need to reserve it beforehands.

The atmosphere was calm and clean, the lights were soft and i enjoyed the christmas music while reading a book.

I should have read others' review before trying their Sakura flavour ice cream. Their Sakura flavour ice cream taste SALTY. Although salted ice cream does exist in this world (like salted-caramel ice cream), I didn't expect a flower flavour ice-cream to be salty. Also, it's saltiness is not subtle, it is quite obvious so this limited time product is a total failure.

Let's talk about the Matcha ice cream. As a person who grew up in East Asia, the matcha ice cream provided in this shop is only average, if not below average, considering the relatively high price (£7). The really good matcha ice cream has a really nice, decent aroma of matcha but it was not noticed in the matcha ice cream in this shop, unfortunately.

In response to another negative review, the shop said they offer "taster". However, unlike some ice-cream shops where the staff will ask you to have a tester or have a poster stating that "you can try before you buy", there is no such notice in this shop. Therefore, I didn't think I could try before I bought their limited edition "Sakura ice-cream".

The atmosphere is nice, it feels Japanese. But I really think they should pay more attention to the quality of their ice-cream...

I’ve been a loyal customer of this place for quite sometime. Unfortunately, today’s experience ( around 5:45pm ) was extremely disappointing. When I kindly asked for a takeaway cup instead of the regular hot cup for my iced matcha latte, the staff member was surprisingly rude and dismissive. I have noticed that people have posted about their experience with the same lady.

Additionally, I had specifically requested almond milk, but the latte I received had barely any milk at all—it was watery and far from what I usually get. ( Understandably, things can go wrong sometimes but the least one could do is being polite with the customers )

Given how much I’ve enjoyed this place in the past, it’s disheartening to see the service and quality decline like this. I left feeling dissatisfied and...
