Having traveled over from Barnsley me and my wife Called in here on the off chance we could get some food We were welcomed inside by the friendliest lady She spent time with us telling us a bit about the building and taking us through the menu We had drinks while waiting for the kitchen to open at 12 and then ordered our food we both had the philly cheese steak sandwich I asked the other again super friendly lady if I could have one really well done as my wife is a bit finicky with steak When the food arrived she made a point of pointing out the well done one for my wife They were HUGE and so well cooked and came with chips and lettuce 5stars definitely recommend this place it has a very welcoming atmosphere and a great range of drinks and real...

I selected The Crown Hotel at random since it was the nearest place to Lime Street Station. The decor is attractive, the bar staff friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. There was a good selection of beer and spirits. I select a pint of Red Dwarf and a Laphroaig. There was a wide choice of reasonably priced bar meals. I opted for 5 mixed tapas. When they arrived I realised I had bitten off more than I could chew literally. They were all moreish and delicious. I shared my bounty with a group of friendly pensioners on the next table. Naturally, one of them told me he had been to school with Paul McCartney! I can wholeheartedly recommend a visit to The...

A lovely looking pub with friendly staff that we visited last week on our trip to Liverpool. It was the first pub the 6 of us saw as we came out of the railway station. So we decided to pop in and see what it had to offer. We were not disappointed as it had a great selection on beers to suit all our tastes and at reasonable prices. Even though we didn't try the food menu it looked good and again the prices looked reasonable to. We ended up staying for a couple of hours before making our way to our hotel. The final morning of our visit we ordered a taxi to take us back there as it opens at 9am and had a few more drinks before catching our train back...

The Crown dates back to 1905 and have a lovely old interior. Superb detailed ceiling and bar. They offer a very good selection of bitters. I had the Black Sheep. It was £4.40. Decent pint. One of the staff was miserable. I store by the bar a few yards away and she could see me but would t come over as it was pretty clear I wanted to order! The other, younger lady with curly hair was very nice and helpful. Had a smile and happy to talk which is what you want when you go to a pub. A pleasant atmosphere in there. It looked like there were quite a few older regulars in there. Plus some tourists came in who were there for the football.

Art Nouveau style building built in 1905 . Conveniently located a stones throw away from Lime train station. This is one pub I beg my husband to bring me to as I had passed here one afternoon and got very attracted to the decorative ceiling and wanted to go in. One has to appreciate the interior of this place from the carved walls , floor tills and the heavily corniced ceilings plus it’s got its own stain glass dome as u go up to the dining room and ladies room. My eyes couldn’t stop wandering trying to take in these beautiful artwork spread all over the place .
