Got a margarita pizza to take out. Smelt amazing. Looks amazing. Tasted very nice but the base was floppy, not undercooked but I would have liked it a little more well done. Thats said I didn't ask for it well done and maybe I should have. The crusts were thick enough but the middle of the base turned to mush. All the flavours were there though so I can't knoch the ingredients. Just that if you tried to hold a slice up by the crust it would literally drip. Amazing inside the place though. Really nice authentic restaurant. I'd take someone there to impress for sure. And friendly staff. I'd give the pizza a 5.6 out of 10. The base could have been slightly more thicker in the middle and it could have been cooked for a couple more minute. Definitely salvageable. I would go again and request a more well done pizza. With the tasty tomato sauce they do and delicious cheese and fresh herb a decent base would push that score up. For the place, the decor and the amazing smells coning from the kitchen id score it overall 4.1 out of 5. Definitely a place to wine and dine for sure.

Villa Romano offers some truly great Italian food in a charming, atmospheric setting right in the heart of Liverpool. The menu is full of classic dishes done right — from rich pastas to perfectly crisp pizzas — all made with quality ingredients and plenty of flavor. The surroundings are warm and inviting, making it a lovely spot for a relaxed meal or a special night out. However, the service unfortunately detracts from the overall experience. While everything ran smoothly enough, the staff came across as unfriendly and a bit surly, which really stood out given the otherwise pleasant atmosphere. A bit more warmth and attentiveness would go a long way in matching the quality of the food and setting. If they can bring the service up to the same standard as the food, Villa Romano would be a top-tier Italian spot in the city. As it stands, still worth a visit for the cuisine — just don’t expect a particularly warm welcome.

Villa Romano, yeah, real nice place for lunch, I ended up in this Restaurant purely by chance, I went to Liverpool to meet a dear friend of mine. Upon meeting her , after our greetings she asked if I'd like to go for lunch, which was on my mind coincidentally, my friend suggested a place she knew of, Romano's is situated a hop & skip from Liverpool Central Station. The decor was very rustic, bare Brick Walls Ornate plaster Coving on the cieling painted in Spicy Med Reds& Cottasxx,  the walls were bare Brick with open Arch painted backdrops, not quite Micheal angel but stil a Medetranian Theme, I just went for the lunch-time special  Menu and chose the Minestrone with chunks of cobbled bread and a Chicken in Taragon sauce with New pots and runner beans, the sauce was the hit of the day, £10 a head, good value, would recommend this Eaterie for lunch and would visit again Chow....

In my experience, this is the worst restaurant in Liverpool. Visiting this place is a mistake I won’t be repeating.

Abysmal service, rude, obnoxious…I think the waiter eventually realised that his manner was about as well received by me (in front of my family) as The Sun newspaper is in Liverpool.

The place was half empty when we went in for lunch during the day. One member of our party was taking medication at the time, so had to be mindful about what they eat. We were told that our whole party wouldn’t be served unless everyone present ordered a main dish.

Now, just in case you’re thinking ‘Well, it’s a restaurant, it’s reasonable that everyone orders something’…I agree with you 100%, and that’s why we ordered that person a handful of sides (items that they were able to eat), which amounted to more (in monetary terms) than the average main dish did anyway, so this is not a ‘spend amount’ or ‘minimum spend’ issue. We were basically told none of us would be served due to one member of our party needing some ‘basic’ consideration, for which I was still more than prepared to make a more than adequate spend on - a spend that exceeded the average main meal anyway. But no, we were told that none of our party would be served because of this family member.

So the relative of yours is supposed to stand outside alone while you and the rest of your family eat lunch? Imagine that!

The principle of a minimum spend is something I’m ok with - not that this was their principle, but if it had been, I more than covered it anyway - and if the place had been full, then I could understand they want a ‘spend per seat’ amount, but a) the place was half empty, AND b) I’d more than met any per head spend with our order anyway.

And that aside, the manner in which we were spoken to was still wholly unacceptable - very inconsiderate, showing a real lack of courtesy and integrity, and zero respect for a family member who needed just ‘a little bit’ of basic consideration about what they ordered. No fuss, just a little bit of basic consideration. Imagine how that family member felt - like it was their fault, due to medical treatment, that none of us could have lunch there.

We left, and had a lovely lunch elsewhere.

Manners and integrity aside - clearly ‘aside’ with this place - here’s the key business mistake too…this place could have been friendly, welcoming, and with values based around service and integrity towards their costumers. Today wouldn’t have been our biggest spend there, but the place was half empty anyway, and perhaps we’d have enjoyed it, visited again, perhaps as a larger group, recommend the place to friends, colleagues and family members, maybe we’d like to hold some of our corporate occasions there etc…that would all have been possible if we’d simply been able to eat a bit of lunch, and just received a bit of basic manners, but no.

So in short, if you are ever planning to visit this place, don’t.

In my experience, this is the worst restaurant...

This is our second visit to this little gem and the food was just as amazing as our first visit 2 years ago. So why only 4*? Well, on this occasion, the service was no where near a match for the food. On arrival we were seated promptly at a v nice table for 2. Soon after, the food and drink menus were brought and a couple of minutes later, our order for a bottle of prosecco was taken. A couple of mins later we were asked by another member of staff if we wanted drinks, we told them what we had already ordered and 5 mins later it still hadn't arrived when our food order was taken . This member of staff apologised profusely and immediately brought our bottle and took our order for food. The garlic bread was perfect and the steak diane was out of this world. When the table was cleared, we told the member of staff that it was the best steak we had eaten since the last time we were there. Absolutely spot on! We asked for a few minutes before the sweet. 20 mins later, we paid the bill and left - without a sweet as no one returned to take the order. The tip was substantially smaller than it would have been too. This place is well worth a visit but I hope your service is better...

I had an absolutely dreadful experience at this restaurant. From the moment my friend and I walked in, the owner and staff were incredibly rude and dismissive. The owner's attitude was appalling, as he openly stated that he didn't care about our dissatisfaction and suggested we leave if we weren't happy.

The service was abysmal, with the staff showing no interest in attending to our needs, further adding to the disappointment of the evening.

I would strongly advise against dining at this establishment. The lack of respect and disregard for customer satisfaction displayed by the owner and staff made for an unpleasant and unwelcoming dining experience. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this restaurant at all costs.

Additionally, to further illustrate the poor quality of service at this restaurant, the table next to ours also expressed their dissatisfaction with their experience. They shared that they had encountered similar issues with the owner and staff, as well as with the food and overall service. This further reinforced our negative impression of the establishment and highlighted the consistent lack of customer care exhibited by...
