I’ve been to this pub countless times for a pint because it’s so close to my home, and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and filled with locals – exactly what you’d want in a proper pub. There’s also a lovely beer garden outside with plenty of seating, and it’s dog-friendly. On my first visit for food, I had the sausage, mash, and gravy – and it was absolutely spot-on. The mash was incredibly smooth with no lumps, the gravy was rich and full of flavour, and the sausages were cooked perfectly. Today, I tried the steak and ale pie slice, and it was just as impressive. The pastry was crisp, the filling was hearty and delicious, and the gravy again was excellent. The staff are genuinely welcoming and attentive every time I visit, which makes the whole experience even better. All in all, a great local pub with fantastic food, friendly service, and a cosy, welcoming vibe. Highly recommended!

Great range of well kept Real Ale 🍻 fab staff and amazing good value food on the 2 for £10.99 menu. Sat outside in glorious sunshine 🌞 sun brollies provided for outside tables. Great character pub highly recommended. Keep up the outstanding standards guys! Definitely my favourite pub in Liverpool for nearly 40 years since I was a student. 😎😁

A very typical British pub, with a welcoming atmosphere. Run by Greene King, they offer a good range of beers and ales. There is a small area of seating out front which is great in the evening sun. Music a little too loud outside, makes it difficult to hold a conversation.

I am leaving this review with sadness really after being a family local for 10 years plus!.

This has been a local for many people who live (local). Not students passing which no disregard is definitely great for the area and local community, but you should still value all customers.

But..... Since the old manager Paula left a good few years ago and Val went from staff to manager, there has been no care or respect for locals who visit the willow bank. Val is constantly Rude, and making people feel uncomfortable in general.

It's really a shame because it used to be a great meeting place for the locals wether it be for a drink or food.

Locals particularly liked Paula's Xmas Eve events was a great way to interact with neighbors in the community.

Some investigation needs to take place from Greene King pubs, Val needs to remember without the local community there would be no revenue flowing in the willow bank. Locals are close to writing in a complaint as a community.

Why make a nice place sour, for what reason?.

If Greene King pubs what to respond underneath with a contact number I am happy to provide further...

We visited the pub lastnite for a family meal on our last nite of our holidays.from the minute we walked in val was so rude to us she didn't want to cook us any food and even told us that.when the meal arrived it was a total disgrace the Gravey was cold after we pouting it over what was meant to be a meat pie you could only describe as a lump of very dry pastry.the fish and chips arrived with two pieces of fish with six or seven chips on the side any one thinking of dining here avoid at all costs.they should not be allowed serve food the way it was presented to us.and if val dosent want to cook close the kitchen and learn how to treat paying customers with some respect we will definitely not returning on...
