Bargain break|We stayed as part of a coach tour. Having booked with a coach company i know they don't use top end hotels so didn't expect much. |The cons : rooms are what let's this hotel down. Beds are a little too soft but there's plenty of pillows. I know the firmness of a bed is preference and you cant please everyone. Rooms have tea and coffee with kettle. When we arrived our bedding was marked and creased to the point that I wondered if it had been changed but it did look clean other than a mark.|The room had a smell to it which was definitely the toilet. I noticed it every time I came in or went into the toilet. The noise that the toilet makes is laughable. Rooms need a few tweaks- shaving points, shelves in the shower. Coat hooks on the doors., 2 chairs rather than just 1 in a double room. It's the small things that this hotel lacks.|One small lift that can comfortably take 2 people and 2 cases. |The pros: food was good, tasty and large portions. I didn't see anyone eat in the grill area - the bit open to the public. It's a shame because the food they cook for guests is lovely so people are missing out here. |My only issue with the guest meals are that you order your evening meal at breakfast but whoever cooks/plates up in the evening does sometimes go a bit rogue - desserts one night were profiteroles and ice cream or bread and butter pudding. We go profiteroles but no ice cream and it was bread pudding. We did on one night however ask for ice cream with our dessert rather than custard and they did it for us. |The best part of this hotel are the staff. The girls in the restaurant work their socks off, back and forth with food.|Yes some people have to wait - they are serving 60+ meals at the same time. |The bar staff/reception team always have a smile ready. |I hope the manager recognises how good his team is. |I dont know if its been a conscious decision to put more money into the ground floor of the hotel - maybe a bit of marketing would bring in more than coach tours. |Overall we had a good stay. Would I stay again - yes for a short break. The rooms need some tlc as they are tired but for a short break the pros...
Read moreWonderful food, great staff, a clean room and bathroom! Booked a dinner bed and breakfast coach tour last minute and picked this hotel for its food and cleanliness reviews. Stayed 4 nights and every meal was delicious. From roast dinner to Spaghetti bolognaise, soups and desserts everything was beautifully cooked, piping hot and well served with a smile! All The staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. They serve a great breakfast! Our first floor Bedroom and bathroom were clean and fresh. Comfortable bed nice high ceilings. We stayed in a smaller room at the back of the hotel and slept well. Our twin Room was freshly painted and had bedside table with draw, dressing table with draws, good sized mirror, chair and a built in wardrobe. Newly refurbished bathroom with power shower and ample hot water. Good light and mirror above the sink. The hotel has a bar and lounge room with a large screen TV. It’s very pleasant to sit in the bay window and look out over the bay. There is a small lift. For reference As it was originally several buildings there are 1 or 2 small steps in the corridors on the upper floors. It is perfectly situated on the promenade for the pier, shops and conveniently around the corner from bus stop where you can travel all over North Wales on a saver bus ticket. This allows travel on any bus company’s bus for the day. (£4-£6) (includes travel to Mount Snowdon) which I can highly Recommend with a stop over at Bwetys-y-coed. There is also time to do the Snowdon Mountain railway (need to prebook) Scenery is breathtaking! Travelling on local bus means you get to see both sides of Snowdon! A wonderful 4 night break in a gem of a place. We will...
Read moreBooked on line via booking.com we did go to the baytree before it had its refurbishment. This visit was for our Ruby wedding anniversary we arrived at 2.45pm to be told our room was ready I had e mailed the hotel asking to have a low floor room if they didn't have a lift due to my motability issues anyemway we were put on the 2nd floor. Hubby went to check out the room only to find we were in between floors so upon comming out out the lift I still had to walk down 10 steps to our room so hubby came back to see reception and told him it wasn't acceptable anyway the time is now 3.20pm the guy on reception sad he would sort us another room which fair play to him he did so we waited in the hotel bar we waited and waited until 5.20 when hubby spoke to reception and said it was unacceptable to be waiting this long he went to speak to housekeeping and then came back and said our room was finally ready. I have limited mobility and then when we went out I found that the disabled ramp was not usable I had to get down 7 steps which caused me great discomfort. The other issue was breakfast when I booked it the booking said breakfast included but I was told that it wasn't anyway I didn't argue about it as the guy on reception just reminded me of faulty towers. The room itself was clean a bit dated in some places. The bed was comfortable and bedding was clean. I just think they need to sort out the disabled access and if they cannot accommodate us users then state this on...
