A wonderful dining experience in a gorgeous atmosphere with interior design facilitated by a clever collab with Lasscoās, and where the food delivers. We were a table of 5 women who love food and an environment conducive to catching up with each other in a relaxed way after a busy work day. There was a delicious variety of dishes conducive to sharing (except the devilled egg - delicious but a single half only).
The potato bread with green garlic butter is a delicious departure from conventional crusty bread and felt like starter rather than a filler. The burrata and the beetroot dishes were both flavourful as were all the dishes we ordered. When asked about allergies and intolerances, clear information was given which made choices easier and there were enough options for a filling meal or combo of smaller meals for most preferences. A fave was the Whole Suffolk Chicken, Dorset Clams, Moqueca Broth, JalapeƱo Pistou (do ask but we can tell you it was a taste sensation and the chicken portion was super-generous and perfectly cooked.) Our only minor constructive feedback was regarding dessert. The chocolate, olive oil and sea salt concoction was a disappointment to all. One could taste all the ingredients but we agreed olive oil did not belong there. Not all of us were fans of the salt either (most of us want the salted choc trend to end- or offer a choice) and the chocolate was not chocolately enough so 4.5 stars for food overall. Otherwise kudos to the chef/s!
We had lovely servers with great attitude and sufficiently knowledgeable about food ingredients. There was a reasonable balance between leaving us to enjoy the meal and action or attentiveness when needed but it was a joint effort. Just a tiny bit to go to 5 stars. All in all, with the slightly incongruous location a short walk from Vauxhall station between modern skyscrapers (wish we had found the correct underpass to get us to the optimal side of the highway sized road on the way in as well out) - Brunswick House is a hidden gem. We all plan to return with our significant others...

From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a memorable evening. Itās rare to find a place where the entire team is so dedicated to creating a special experience, but Brunswick House absolutely delivered.
Hannah, our server, was a standout. Her warmth, attention to detail, and deep knowledge of the menu instantly put us at ease. She didnāt just recommend dishes; she described them with such genuine enthusiasm that we couldnāt wait to try everything she suggested. It felt like she knew exactly what we would love. Throughout the evening, Hannah was incredibly attentive, checking in at just the right times, refilling our drinks, and making sure we were completely taken care of, all without interrupting the natural flow of the meal. It felt like she was fully invested in ensuring we had the best possible experience.
The kitchen deserves the highest praise as well. Every dish was like a work of art, both visually stunning and packed with flavor. You could sense the passion and creativity that went into each plate. The pacing was spot-on too. We managed to squeeze in a quick visit downstairs to the Jazz cellar before our main course, the intermission allowed us to savor each bite without feeling rushed or left waiting.
What made this experience truly remarkable was the harmony between the front and back of the house. You could feel that the whole team cared deeply about their work and took pride in every detail. It was clear that there was a shared vision driving everything they did, and that added so much to the evening.
To Hannah and the talented chefs: thank you for such a beautiful night. Brunswick House has set a new standard for us, and we canāt wait to return. Itās rare to find a place where every single person is so dedicated to excellence, and they truly deserve every...
Read moreIt is with great disappointment that I write this review. My friend and I had wanted to come to Brunswick House for some time. Our diaries finally aligned so off we went on Thursday. We ordered a bottle of white wine. On tasting, it was warm. I asked the waitress for a colder bottle. She advised me that 'it had been in the wine cooler so was cold, If I wanted I could have some ice in my wine and then we could put it in the ice bucket'. I declined the ice in my wine and she walked off in the manner that she could not have cared less about what I had asked for. We then ordered from the surly waitress, who again could not have made it more obvious that she hated her job and us too for being there. When I asked what was in the salad her response was 'leaves'. Our food arrived, the fries, green salad and the steak. The steak was okay but not better than that of Flat Iron, the jus was very very thin and flavourless, the steak had not been rested enough so blood was coming out of it. Our surly waitress presented us with the bone asking us if we wanted to eat it. I'm not sure why she thought we'd come out to chew on bones but hey, this question aligned with her bad attitude. I asked her to wrap it so we could take it way for the dog instead. In order of what made the night enjoyable were The company The salad The fries Our bill came to about £165 with service, we declined to pay the service but still left a £10 cash tip as we're not complete a-holes. Did our waitress deserve it? Nope. Is it worth visiting Brunswick House? Maybe if you find yourself in Vauxhall for some reason. I am always keen to eat out at independent restaurants to support them however with that support, I do expect at the very least to be treated as a paying guest and not as a hinderance. I do hope things improve at...
