Afters Tooting London — Restaurant in London

Visited last weekend and recall visiting way back in it's early days. Noticed big drop in quality of service. I feel they are benefitting from lack of local competition. Nearest similar venue is at the other end of the main road in Tooting; so I guess, like us, others who visited local restaurants at this end of Tooting earlier, would rather pop in here for their desserts, to save walking, rather than consider any alternatives a longer walk away.

Encountered surly behaviour from 1 of the staff behind the counter, did not convey the impression of being happy to server or to be there. Customers go to these type of places for a fun experience all round, not just the food. Server was ostensibly grumpy about the fact that my friend may have been requesting too many samples to taste before deciding what flavour to go for. But tone and manner of server's reply was the issue, there are better ways to inform customers about the venue's rules.

I do not think it was just one bad server or one bad night at the venue, as I see other reviews expressing...

Service exceptional standards, quality of all products and taste is average, personally the prices are too high for quality of product they have to offer, I ordered 2 chocolate fudge cakes with 3 scoops of ice cream, bill £15.80, I queried the bill as I was a bit stunned to be honest and the staff told me a slice of chocolate fudge cake is £4.55, the cake was pretty small, cut in a thin slice smartly placed in a plastic box and the chocolate sauce is to sugary and overly sweet with minimal fudge and average semi moist sponge so not really up to scratch for the price, also to be noted the plastic container had deformed in shape and melted as I asked for the cakes to be heated which is an option they offer, highly disappointed with the cookie dough ice cream, I can't really say it's Cookie dough and again the vanilla flavour in the cookie dough is...

The decor is certainly eye catching, it draws you in. The pink and black, with a motorcycle and flat screen TVs? Sweeet. However, the ice cream itself isn't amazing. It's overly sweet, which makes it obvious that they use flavourings rather than fresh ingredients.. and it makes all the distance. For example, you get that sickly sweet (almost to the point of bitter?) aftertaste with the coconut flavour, that you only really get from bottled "coconut essence". There is a charge if you pay by card under £10 which kind of sucks. However, the prices aren't that bad and if it's hot weather and you want somewhere cool to sit and hang out with friends, this place...
