I can confidently say it was one of the worst fast food experiences I’ve had in a long time. The prices have skyrocketed, but the quality of food has plummeted. It feels like they’re just living off their franchise name at this point, relying on the nostalgia of previous customers instead of delivering good food. Upon entering, I was immediately put off by the filthy tables. They were still not wiped down, making the whole place feel dirty and uninviting. It’s absolutely unacceptable for a food establishment to neglect cleanliness to such an extent. You shouldn’t have to worry about whether you’re sitting at a clean table while waiting for your meal. Customer service was another major letdown. The staff was not only unhelpful but downright stingy with sauces. They acted as if they were paying for every packet of mayo or ketchup, which is ridiculous for a fast-food restaurant. It left me feeling like I had to plead for basic condiments, which should come standard with any meal. It was like pulling teeth just to get a couple of extra packets! While they are quick at serving you your meal on a tray, the chicken itself was subpar at best. The quality has definitely gone downhill, and it’s disheartening to see that the drinks and desserts appeared fresher than the chicken! It’s mind-boggling how the drinks can be more appealing than the main attraction. The chicken was overcooked, dry, and lacking in flavour. It felt more like a rushed effort to get food out the door than a focus on quality. To add insult to injury, the portion sizes have shrunk significantly. I remember when a meal at Chicken Cottage used to be filling, but now it feels like you’re barely getting enough food to satisfy your hunger. It’s as if they’ve decided to skimp on everything that made them popular in the first place. I couldn’t believe I was paying top dollar for such lacklustre portions. The overall atmosphere was chaotic and unkempt, making it hard to enjoy any part of the meal. With greasy floors and disorganised tables, it’s clear that cleanliness and customer experience are not priorities for this location. The employees seemed overwhelmed and disengaged, adding to the overall negative vibe of the place. Honestly, Chicken Cottage is a disappointment in every way. The inflated prices, combined with the unclean tables, poor service, and awful food quality, make it a place I can no longer recommend. It's truly disheartening to see how they've downgraded their food and service while trying to cash in on their branding. Save your money and go elsewhere; you’ll definitely find better options out there!

Food was terrible, cold chicken burger, mouldy bun. Chips were refried and burnt, no sauce provided the wings were mediocre and only luke warm, all which I had to throw away, this cottage is extremely over priced with no offers available in comparison to local chicken shops or cottages, service was atrocious, Staff were rude, could not listen, very patronising and they would use terrible language to there customers, the supervisor calls me a maderchod to his colleague thinking I wouldn’t hear him then lies about it when I confronted him to repeat what he said, the colleague lied and made accusations against me which were not true, I advise the owner to check the camera around 12.30am so he can see how his staff behave and why his customer base has gone down, I asked for the manager or a number to someone i can speak to they lied first said no one there and then said the guy who swore and provoked The situation was a supervisor after all, they showed no consideration, no respect, no effort, no customer service, gave a lot of attitude, gave terrible food which I could not eat and had to throw away, please see pics. I had been coming to this chicken cottage for many years and did feel like it today but considering my last few experiences over the last few years i would never recommend or go to this one again, it is not my first choice anymore due to service and quality of food, anyone that knows this cottage will remember how busy they used to be compared to now, and it is because of these reasons, I would never go again and I would definitely not recommend. The Streatham high road and Thornton heath cottage’s 10x better, better offers/deals and service, if you are looking for reasonable service and decent food please don’t go here and waste your money. Very disappointing.

I come here fairly regularly for a take away and have done so for many years. The staff are always polite and it's always clean. I've only sat in once or twice. I always check my order before I leave (because i'm just like that) and everything is usually fine. Good range of products. I usually have a grilled chicken burger. Update 3 years later on 04/08/19 So, I’m trying to be conscious about what I eat and now am mainly vegan but there’s the odd slip up- like yesterday when I popped to Chicken Cottage for a grilled chicken and some fries. I got home to find that I had half a chicken only. So I rang up today even though I didn’t think I had been charged for the whole chicken (the price on the recipe was cheap). The manager had picked up the phone and was charming. He confirmed I had only been charged for half the chicken and fries- ie items I had received but he asked me to pop in and as I had some chores to do in that area- I went in later. The manger, Fayaaz A.Q. was v apologetic and lovely and handed me a complimentary half a chicken. Such good customer service is rare. What great staff. Five star treatment for customers deserves a five star review. Thank you!

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Chicken Cottage, and have been since I moved to London 10 years ago.

As I reside in Streatham my usual branch of Chicken Cottage is on Streatham High Road where I frequently buy their Peri Peri chicken, and nothing else. There, I have never had any repercussions after eating their food.

Only yesterday evening, as I was in Tooting, I decided to treat myself to some Chicken Cottage, after restraining for a month or so! I bought a whole Peri Peri, fries, and BBQ wings meal (not all for me!).

I ate the Peri Peri chicken yesterday evening, and this morning I have the worst case of stomach acid and indigestion I have ever had in my life. The pain and acid refluxes I am experiencing has reached a point that I am seriously contemplating going to an NHS walk-in centre or booking an emergency appointment with my GP.

There is something obviously wrong with the Peri Peri chicken from the branch in Tooting, as I have never had an issue with the food in Streatham. I have a feeling the Peri Peri sauce was smothered on the chicken whilst grilling, but not left to actually cook, meaning I have a stomach full of raw chilli sauce.

Safe to say that I will never be buying the Peri Peri from the Tooting...
