We went here last night and it was just awful. This new process of ordering ice cream using a screen is just silly. Get rid of the screens – it's such a stupid process.
Going to any ice cream shop should be a nice easy sensory experience. For decades, customers point at the ice cream and the person behind the counter scoops it. We get to physically see the ice cream with our own eyes. It's a process that has worked beautifully for years now – and for good reason.
Now there are added steps which create more room for error and make it harder for the customer to actually order want they want. The screens have an interface with way too many options that just confuse what should be a simple process. I came for ice cream now I'm being presented with every other add-on else under the sun. It's the perfect example of a business putting profits before the customer experience.
Hilariously, customers now have to look at digital photos of the ice cream that sits 2 feet away from the screens right on the same counter where we could easily order and pay. It just makes no sense why it's been designed this way. It's an ice cream shop that's trying to be like a McDonalds.
Moving past the new and rather silly tech, the place itself was filthy when we went in. The floors were dirty, the glass barrier covering the ice cream was foggy with finger prints and the touch screens were grubby. Horrible experience.
The pricing was also ridiculous. £5 per small tub of ice cream which is basically one scoop is criminal. Instead, go to Oddono's just around the corner on Flask Walk. You'll get cheaper ice cream and the quality and service will be better. Venchi are the same price as Amorino but even they do it better as they offer great flavours and throw in a little chocolate coin.

We visited on Sunday and waited 25 minutes in the queue for ice cream. I understand it was a busy day, but that kind of delay is unacceptable. We had a restaurant reservation and could not wait any longer, so we politely asked for a refund.
