I have been going to this coffee shop occasionally for the past few months. Usually I have nothing bad to say and never write reviews, however, today my experience was awful. I received the wrong order, and when I confronted them about this I was told that the mistake was my fault, which was completely untrue. As i had paid for the wrong order I noticed I had been overcharged for the items I intended on buying, and when i asked about this, I was told the price for the order was the same… I wanted to check this as the price didn’t match with the menu price. I confronted them again and I was then told the price was not the same and that I would receive a refund of the price difference which i am still yet to receive. I was never given a receipt. I will definitely be reconsidering any future visits, I feel the customer service was terrible and really not what I expect. Had a lovely brekkie here at the Leather Lane branch this morning catching up with my boss. Saw a man with a plate of bacon, a fried egg and a bun and said to the lovely Saffa man at the front "I want that one" pointing to the man's plate. I asked if their eggs were British as I am pregnant so guidelines say I can only have soft lion eggs. He wasn't too sure but showed me the box and assured me they were top notch eggs. I told him "it's not about whether they are posh or not but if they are British lion eggs". He told me he'd served loads of pregnant women the eggs and no one has died on him yet. Reassuring! Anyway the breakfast was fabulous and the latte was good. So strong it reached my caffeine quota for the day. My boss approved. Will be back (if I survive...
Read moreMaybe a bad day for them but we experienced an example of less than positive customer service here. Came in to their empty cafe with food from the street market outside in hand. They took our money for coffee, said nothing when we sat down to eat while waiting, gave us our drinks then said no outside food allowed even on their outside tables in a more aggressive than sorry way. I regret not returning the coffee for a refund. I understand not wanting to have outside food in but it should have been brought up before serving and it would be good for their business to better coexist with the market when it’s on and treat customers better. We ate just down the block on benches and noticed all 20ish seats there were still empty when we finished which is sad because as a fellow entrepreneur, I want small cafes like this to be profitable and...
