Authentique Boulangerie - Finsbury Park — Restaurant in London

Saw this place being promoted on Instagram so I wanted to come try it out myself being a super pastry/ bakery enthusiast. I came on a weekday around 2pm so most of the pastries were already sold out. I had wanted to try the plain croissant and pain au chocolat so I guess I will have to come back earlier next time. I was lucky that they still have one cinnamon roll and one almond croissant left so I went with both to go.

I didn't have them on the spot as I like to reheat my pastries in my air fryer before consuming so I did the same this time and brought them home to try. Gotta say their pastries are a little bit on the oily side as the paper bag containing the pastries were already half-soaked when I got home a few hours later. Nonetheless both pastries were absolutely flaky and fluffy inside. Lors of flavours and very well-made. I particularly liked how much cinnamon they used in the roll and the equal spread of filling along every layer of the swirl which I really appreciated. Almond paste in the croissant wasn't too strong which is how I like and prefer it so I had a great time enjoying both pastries.

Staff were very friendly at the shop. They were doing some kind of renovation so I hesitated going in at first as there wasn't anyone at the cashier but then they popped up to serve and were very approachable and chatty. Would love to...

Lovely little bakery, they kindly gifted some extra things for us to try today. As a Frenchwoman myself, can attest that they’re indeed authentically French :) All the classics, from cannelés to croissants, plus some more original combos especially in the savory department, and a good-looking bread selection. They also have a small deli section (mainly charcuterie and cheese) which looks v promising. Will come back soon to sample the rest of the selection- have my eye on the flans pâtissiers, so hard to find...

Using an app I Got a “dessert” which I didn’t know had pork in it. Would’ve been nice to be informed. Luckily I didn’t eat it- I emailed them and they confirmed. I’m sure it’s lovely and will give to my roommate . I think, especially in an area with lots of dietary diversity a pastry shop should let their customers know. I also picked up seeded bread .
