Do not recommend at all. We booked months ago for a Christmas party with 25 people. On speaking when booking, I asked the booking people should I book the Covent Garden venue or should we book the soho branch. She said that the Covent Garden branch was booked for a private event and but soho would be absolutely fine and there would be plenty of space for us in soho. On turning up, some of the party were asked to wait outside for 20mins as they were at capacity. How you can be at capacity when we have a booking is beyond me. Following on from this, we were then shown to our table. The table seated 12 people and was in the middle of the dance floor. There was no space for everyone to sit down, people from the dance floor were bashing into the table and the tables were not large enough to hold the number of food platters we had ordered. The booking was at 8pm, we managed to get in at 8.20 and there were non of our pre ordered drinks to be seen. On asking to speak to the manager we were met with a gentleman who informed us that there isn’t anything he can do and that seating area takes 30. I informed him we had paid close to £700, booked far in advance and this was not acceptable. After an HOUR of going back and forth with this manager, we were getting no where. He told me that due to head office taking the bookings they can not help and that we need to speak to them. By this point it is 9pm. We apparently only have the table for 2 hours and we have had no food or drink. Finally another manager comes out and then manages to move us to two tables upstairs that hold 12 but this was better than being in the mess that was downstairs. Finally at 9.45 nearly 2 hours of arriving the first platter arrived and it was stone cold. Thank you to the second manager who offered us drinks as compensation but to be honest the night had already left a sour taste in our mouth Overall, I would not recommend booking this as a venue as it is very small and...
Read moreHad the worst experience with Barrio Soho, ruined my birthday and were incredibly rude too. Every year for my birthday I celebrate with my friends at various cocktail bars around London, and have never had a problem so far - normally everyone is super nice and hospitable. I called up Barrio Soho quite far in advance and specifically requested a table DOWNSTAIRS, where the dancefloor was, also asking if the dancefloor was open. They said of course, the dance floor would be open and that we could have a table downstairs. When we got there on the Monday that we booked, they told me that actually the downstairs was closed on Mondays and there was nothing they could do - meaning they lied on the phone to me. If I had known it was closed, I would have booked somewhere else, so I find this extremely deceiving and rude. Instead of being even slightly apologetic, from that moment on they were incredibly rude and hostile. My friends and I originally let it all pass, figuring we weren't going to put up a fuss and instead just sit down and have some drinks. They continued to be extremely rude, especially the woman at the bar, who constantly snapped at us and made sarcastic comments about our drink choices. In the end, we decided to just go somewhere else. Overall the whole experience really ruined my birthday party, made me and my friends unnecessarily upset. The rudeness and lying was just unnecessary. A shame, because their cocktails are nice, but all in all their attitude...
Read moreAvoid this place at all costs!!!! Me and my friends visited Barrio Soho to celebrate a birthday. We went there early during the happy hours, expecting to get benefits on drinks, 2 for 1 cocktails, £3 tequila and £5 tacos. We ordered food as well, approximately 10 dishes to share among 8 people. The food was good, but less in quantity, not at all filling. Drinks were decent. We were surprised to see a bill of £301, considering we ordered in the happy hours. When asked if the bill amount is correct, the staff said yes, therefore everyone started paying their share. But then one of us noticed that tacos were charged according to the normal amount and also the service charge was very high. We requested to correct the bill and provide us with a new one. The new bill was £230, but we had already paid around £257 in total, not only they denied paying the refund but also made my friend to pay extra £28 for “pending amount”. At that point we were frustrated to argue with the manager and left. Next day on checking the bill again, tequila was charged according to normal price making a total of £117 of the bill. Not at all happy with this place for charging us normal prices when they have advertised the offers. And literally scamming us of money when the bill showed £230 but made...
