Beware! If you’re clinging to a diet, this place will throw you over the edge!! The food here is delicious and served in ample quantities.
To set context, I’m in London on business having spent this Monday afternoon travelling, so after checking in to my hotel and a quick shower, I decided to find some comfort food. I used to live in Singapore for many years, so I thought I’d look up some East Asian cuisine. Even though I’ll be expensing dinner, I think £30 for good meal is reasonable, and anything more than this needs to be outstanding. I just paid the bill at £35, and I thought the place was brilliant.
I started with their piping hot prawn har gau dumplings and had a side of their chunky Szechuan cucumber side salad. Bold flavours from the start. Great umami taste from the juicy prawns went super well with the fresh, crunchy cucumber.
I initially came to try their laksa, but got distracted by their roast duck rice. Next time! The duck rice had all the authentic aromas you would expect if you were being served in a hawker back in Asia. Good size portion served with bak choi.
I washed everything down with a Vietnamese iced coffee, which was strong but not overpowering. Dessert was a bowl of mango sago, which was wonderfully sweet finish.
To be honest, I could have eaten half and packed half to go, and would have been fully satisfied. I somehow convinced myself that everything tastes better when fresh, so pushed myself to keep on going. I’m now feeling uncomfortably satisfied! But only I can account for my choices.
Service was fast and accommodating. The restaurant is well laid out and their facilities were clean and comfortable.
I wanted to try a range of restaurants during this trip, but I may have to come back here to actually try their noodles! Maybe next time I’ll remember to take photos too 😂 I just can’t...

FOOD 5/5 The Prawn and Chive Dumplings blew my mind. They had whole prawns packed inside each one, making them the best dumplings I've ever had. The Crispy Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings were out of this world. They were more like a delicacy than fast food. The Chinese Wat Tan King Prawns were a pleasant surprise. I chose them based on a photo from another Google review, but the actual dish surpassed all expectations. Trust me, the photo didn't do it justice. And the Fried Ho Fun Seafood? Unbelievable.
SERVICE 4/5 The service was good, nothing extraordinary, but the server knew their stuff when asked about the dishes. The atmosphere was chilled out, and even though we arrived at 12:30, the place was already half full within 30 minutes of opening.
VALUE 4.5/5 Now let's talk value. The lunch special is a great deal at £15.95, available from 11:30 to 3 PM, Monday to Friday. If you're into seafood, it's even better. They also have a kids menu for £6.95, although it's not very authentic. Cultured kids would probably prefer the main menu. For two adults ordering the lunch special, our bill came to £38.50 with 2 large soft drinks, excluding tip. Considering the portion sizes and quality of the food, it's a bit on the pricey side for lunch, but still fair value.
This is where I finally discovered what a crab stick is truly supposed to taste like! It's mind-boggling that this place doesn't have at least a 4.5 rating on TripAdvisor. It deserves more recognition for its...
Read moreWhat can I say. Mixed emotions about this place, I had seaseme prawn toast to start followed by there number 66 a honey glazed crispy pork meal it comes with egg fried rice, accompanied with salt and chilli crispy wings. Now I must say these were the best seaseme prawn toasts I've EVER had, this is the only reason why it gets a couple stars. Other than that, the crispy pork was nice but the rice had basically no egg in it and I also found a hair (it was to late it was in my mouth). But the food was good ashame the egg fried rice had no egg but besides that & the hair it was good, I decided to not kick up a fuss and bring up the hair because I was saying to my friend "apart from that hair the food was actually lovely". But because of the hair, the lack of egg in my rice & a few other small things I decided to not pay the service charge of 10% bearing in mind our bill was just over £80. The absolute rudeness and cheekiness of the man that took the payment was unbelievable, he tried to make us feel embarrassed and even after telling him to take it of several times he was quite reluctant. But absolutely rude just the way he treated us taking the payment will stop me ever coming here again!
