A really special evening at Bistrot Walluc! Amazing food and service. An intimate unassuming gem of a venue. It did take a minute to find and we arrived before they were open after booking online. However a quick text message to the number on google revealed someone was about to open up. We were promptly seated and shown the set menu which we ordered. I think theres another review we read about them not serving food but they definitely do and it is exactly the menu on my review and online. We chose the red wine, a very reasonably priced but quality italian wine and were served charcuterie (meats, gerkins and cheese) with bread and a soft cheese and honey dip. This was followed by fondue, bread and potatoes and finished with a shot of ameretto. Cannot wait to return again and enjoy the amazing food wine and atmosphere. I feel lucky to have found such a hidden gem!

Mad, fun, lovely, what an experience! In Shoreditch you often pay a lot to have forgettable food and chilly service. Not at Bistro Walluc. The food is plain fare (cold cuts - good, melted cheese - good, potatoes - good), and the drinks menu is fairly basic, but what sets this place apart is the owner and his genuine desire for you to have a great night. Imagine your Italian uncle is looking after you for the weekend and he’s feeding you from his own cupboard (it just happens to be the tastiest cheeses), he’s giving you limoncello shots, and he’s doing close up magic tricks (yes this happened). My friend and I had both had a pretty rubbish week at work and this felt like a bit of soul food. Leave your London cynicism at the door and embrace the Bistro. I’ll be coming back.

Not bad, not up to the hype thought... My girlfriend gave me one parameter for her birthday meal: Cheese. Unsurprisingly we ended up here (St Moritz was booked). The food was ok. For £42 I was a bit disappointed with a bowl of cheese, some potato and some bread. (the fondue) and a charcuterie of some meat and more bread. Just wasn't great... I mean, I kind of expected something... More? The restaurant is cool, but maybe too quirky? The chairs are unsteady (the guy over from me moved chairs as it was literally falling apart) and you can't really talk without everyone hearing, whether they like it or not... It's an ok cheese place, kind of fun in a weird way, but nothing special.

What to say, I came from a very small village in Italy and the Bistrot reminds me home. I even been lucky cause I’ve had the chance to play there 3/4 times during the delicious dinners that they made, I had food in there too and being Italian I can tell you when food is good and when is not. That’s Italian style, as if we were in Italy. And then don’t forget that it is a bistrot, so if you want 5stars restaurant food this is not the place for you. Same for the wine, I had 2 bottles last time I’ve been there and it was delicious. So thumb up for that! Then, unfortunately I have to keep myself safe from bad reviews, cause last time I’ve played in there it was quite busy, and there was this unsatisfied customer that first wanted to bring her own wine from home and expecting to do not pay for it, and then was making complaints for everything. I was checking her google profile and she thinks she is a food blogger, but she’s got 4 reviews and 0-ZERO FOLLOWERS, so that makes me understand how much professional she is, thinking to be an expert but maybe she just found out how London works. I’m sorry for her, cause she puts all of this bad mood everywhere she goes, definitely not the best company to hang out with. If pop/songwriting is not your musical genre I’m sorry but you should go to a disco club to have fun, or if you know how to do better than me please feel free to come on the stage and play your way. I’m not Freddie Mercury and I know, you shouldn’t come and say that to me, but you were the only one unsatisfied about my music so I’m sorry for you but next time go somewhere else where musicians uses laptops and no one is playing live. Again, I’m sorry for her and for her bad music culture. That said, I wish you could go at the Bistrot and enjoy the food they made and the music and the shows they hosts,...

Went here with family for fondue as part of my wife's birthday celebrations. The photo's of the bistro on the internet made it look quite intimate, charming and an interesting place to visit so we decided to book....via text as this is the only way. No confirmation but we turned up and were greeted by a friendly member of staff. To be fair, on first glance this place does appear cosy and charming, but, on (not very much) closer inspection...it's filthy! Haphazard array of dirty trinkets and decorations. Grimey menus and tables. Cold - the front door was left wide open - presumably to try and alleviate the smell of damp. Gents toilets were out of order so had to use the ladies - absolutely vile in there! No hot water for hand-washing either. On to the food... It seems the menu is irrelevant as what we received didn't match what we ordered (missing several ingredients). Fondue was "kept warm" by 9 tealights rather than a burner so quickly congealed into a rubbery mess. Bread was stale. Drinks we ordered were fine but the free shot provided at the end of the ordeal was grim. Don't know what it was. Had to leave after eating to find an ATM as it's cash payment only. This is what I imagine consuming cheese in a crack-den would be like. As I mentioned, the service was friendly but this was the only plus.... except it was hilarious for all the wrong reasons and...

The idea of the place is really good. I was looking forward to this dinner. However, as someone that eats out a lot, I can tell the difference when something is very bad quality. Everything from the starter charcuterie to the main fondue. I could tell the cheese was supermarket bought cheese and the cold meat very bad quality. The wine was terrible. Only 2 options of wine. I asked if I could bring my own and they told me I had to pay £15. When it came to the fondue, the cheese separated from the fat. That is a clear indicator that the fondue is of bad quality. I had fondue many times. Also the bread and potatoes as the only option for dipping was a bit on the sad side. To add to this literally we waited 1 hour between plates. I was looking forward to see the comedy show. Unfortunately, this only lasted 30 min. The rest of the time I had to deal with this way out of tone singer. It killed me. I am not one to leave bad reviews, but this one was probably one of the worst dinners out I’ve ever had. It costs us £80 for Asda quality food. Very disappointing. If you are only offering one thing in the menu, it should be amazing right? Sorry for the rant. I hope this is useful for the owner. I am happy to come back once some investment is made in the food. Again, the place concept is very unique and it has...
