When Brooklyn Pizza first started, it was my go to for NYC style pizza having been a native new yorker for 40 years before moving to London. It was for sure the only slice of NY you could get in london. At one point the crust and cheese were PERFECT. Sadly this is no longer the case anymore. Not sure if there was a change in ownership or ingredient supply chain issues but it's very sad at the moment.
There used to be a 'Brooklyn Pizza' that is off the menu somehow which was truly the replica of a NY slice. It was the perfect ratio of sauce to oily cheese and the crust and underside was done perfectly. Sadly now gone for whatever reason. The Margherita despite paying extra £ for extra cheese was barely there and the basil taste is just too heavy. Don't be fooled this is not Brooklyn Pizza. Only by name. Bring back the Brooklyn pie and don't skimp on the cheese or fuggedaboutit. I will say that the price seems to be more reasonable now at £12 for a 12 inch. But the 20inch at £30 a pie is insanity. I know London is expensive and so are ingredients, but £30 a pie is robbery especially for the barely there cheese and the difference in quality from before. If you can go back to the old formula, i'd be willing to pay the premium. I'm hoping this gets some management attention but let's keep it real this ain't NYC or Brooklyn pizza and doesn't deserve to use the name anymore.
UPDATED IN RESPONSE TO OWNER RESPONSE:
Thank you Seb, much respect for the humble and productive response. I recognise the review is harsh but it was from the point of view of a frequent loyal customer and subsequently disappointed one. New Yorkers don't really hold back, and I'm glad you accepted the constructive criticism as it was intended to help your business and not harm it.
I anxiously await for the good news and I really want to support your business. You guys helped me get over serious homesickness when you put out that amazing Brooklyn Pie. I am attaching some photos to commemorate. Also to highlight the difference in quality between then and now. Both were ordered with extra cheese. One set of photos is the Brooklyn slice top and bottom compared to the Margherita top and bottom. Major difference as you can...
Read moreI will start of my review with my experience of ordering the pizza, time it took to deliver and then my initial thoughts of the pizza and in conclusion how was my general experience with this pizza restaurant. so I ordered a pepperoni 20" pizza for delivery everything seemed fine until it didnt arrive in my estimated delivery time, which i thought to myself its ok it happens it will arrive, give them 15mins before i should call them up to ask if everything is ok. 15mins later pizza still wasn't delivered i called the place, they sales assistant told me they were very busy and my pizza hasn't left the restaurant yet and that as soon as the delivery driver will get back he will delivery it. so i waited and waited and it took them 1hour pass my estimated delivery time to delivery the pizza, not a great start but at that point everyone was hungry and we wanted some food. once i opened the pizza box the only thing that was worth mentioning was the size, apart from that nothing else, the pizza was hot but the ingredients are cheap and i mean very cheap, cheese wasnt even stretching like a true Brooklyn pizza the sauce was dry and seemed like they just put some tomato ketchup and nothing else.yes it had cheddar but it was a very cheap cheddar cheese as it didn't have the texture of a good quality cheese and taste was off it wasnt anything like what a £34 pizza should be. the quality is exactly like you get from a London street pizza vendor where you buy one slice and its not the good kind. i also added extra sweetcorn to the order, the sweetcorn was burned and dry overal taste wasn't good. so whats my recommendation? cannot recommend this place, nothing abbout their pizza other than their 20" size screamed anything Brooklyn about it and definitely not worth £34 even a frozen super market pizza has better quality ingredients and not forgetting the delay in delivery. not happy...
Read more[Initial Review followed by update below...] Terrible experience. Ordered through UberEats. After 1.5 hours no delivery. Called about 5 times within a 15mins span but nobody picked up. Contacted Uber Eats support who also tried unsuccessfully to contact them and then cancelled my order. Do not order here unless you have lots of patience. Very disappointing.
UPDATE ON 15/10/2020 As seen in the "response from the owner" below, Seb got in touch via email the next day. I took him up on his offer to make it right and he followed through by letting me order a new pizza for free on a different date. He also sincerely apologised and explained that they simply got swamped with orders the day I had initially ordered, which caused delays in getting the pizzas out to the customers. The second time I ordered was a breeze. Phone at the restaurant was instantly picked up, delivery was speedy and 30mins later we had a delicious pizza on our plates. Quality and flavour of the pizza were amazing so will definitely order again. So I'm now happily giving 5 stars because I feel that Brooklyn Pizza Crew not only has lovely pizzas but really cares about their customers and goes the extra mile to make sure they are satisfied....
