I can’t say enough about Bruce Burgers and the experience. I recently had the pleasure of dining here, and it was truly a delightful experience. We were in town for the Renaissance concert and came across the restaurant while mapping out things to do in London. On our second day in town we popped on over to try the food and whoa! But before jumping into all of the specifics regarding the good eats, let’s talk about the restaurant itself. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant has a trendy yet cozy vibe, with cool decor and comfortable seating. The music is an entire vibe on its own. We also had the pleasure of meeting the little boss which is the daughter of the owner. She was so adorable.
When we sat down and took a look at the menu, it was evident that we had to try the famous Bruce Burger. Little did we know at the time that we would end up trying everything on the menu as it offers a wide variety of options. Let’s get into it…
The burgers are insanely good! Imagine going to the perfect barbecue and someone’s uncle adds some razzle dazzle with a special sauce that has been a family recipe passed down from generation to generation. Yeah, that kind of good! We also couldn't resist trying their hand-cut fries and onion rings, and we were not disappointed. They were made to perfection! Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the chicken wings! Wow! Wow! Wow! They have this sauce that they make in-house and put on the wings. It is amazing! Not to mention the meat literally falls off of the bone! You would think that we’d stop there, but no no no. We kept this ride going. Before we knew it we had lamb chops and mac and cheese at the table. I will be the first to admit that I am extremely picky with Mac and cheese but these guys got it RIGHT! I can’t tell you what kinds of cheese they use but the flavor is otherworldly! To our surprise, Jason popped up at our table with a sample of their Biscoff cheesecake. Let’s just say that it is so good that I deep dived on Pinterest for hours trying to find the recipe so that I could make it at home.
What impressed me the most about Bruce Burgers was the attention to detail. The ingredients used were fresh and high-quality, and it was evident that the chef took pride in their craft. The service was also top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who were more than happy to accommodate us. Raj and Jason own/manage the restaurant and are seriously like your favorite cousins that you haven’t seen in a while but love hanging out with. We chatted about the history of Bruce Burgers, the decor, and of course the FOOD! They made such a great impression that we came back before heading home to the states. We even purchased a few bottles of their magic burger and bbq sauce to take home with us.
If you're a food enthusiast like me, I highly recommend paying a visit to Bruce Burgers. With its inviting ambiance, delectable food, and impeccable service, it's a place that guarantees a satisfying and memorable dining experience. We can't wait to return and try some of their other enticing creations. This is certainly one of our go-to restaurants whenever we...
Read moreExcellent lamb chops are served here. Succulent, oozing class, presentation and flavour. Regarding the whole chicken, although very expensive at £23 (yes - more than Nandos), it was moist and served with delicious sweet potatoes fries. BBQ wings were succulent and cooked to perfection. Great option of Jerk/BBQ flavours. Plus side - you can get the latest craze in Fanta soft drinks. Various flavours available. Seating comfortable and huge tables available. Toilets very clean.
Suggested improvements:
One downside was the men sitting and smoking literally outside the shop, with the smell disturbing our meal. Regular feature here, with a large African/Carribean community. I closed the shop door, but was baking in the heat as the Air Con was not working. The owners requested that I open the door to let some air in. Perhaps the owners can look into this being fixed or replaced.
A further suggestion for improvement is the basic customer service. The young girl working at the counter was lacking in professionalism and enthusiasm. Not a single smile for the entire duration of our visit. She was glued to an iPad/ordering system and staring outside, not very welcoming/talkative at all from the moment we walked in. We had to figure out for ourselves that orders are placed at the counter and not taken by her coming over to us. That communication could be better with customers.
I will surely come back to try the burgers next time. Overall: 7/10 - has...
Read moreWent on the 2nd day of opening, the Asian lady/owner is not very welcoming, she didn't smile or say hello but did to everyone else. Maybe because I am Asian too? weird. but I ignored this and thought let me try the food as its very local to me. The other members of staff where smiley and did say sorry for the wait and update me on how long I have left for my takeaway to be ready etc. which was a surprise as the owner didn't bother with any of this.
The food...Burger was dry and tasteless, bun was stale and dry. The meat seemed like it had no salt or pepper or any sort of seasoning at all. the onions rings where ok but there just bought and fried, nothing really to it,
The Nutella milkshake was basically not even basically IT IS milk and nuttela in a blender with cheap Iceland spray cream ontop with some sprinkles. Eurgh
However the décor is nice inside with a rustic look similar to that of dirty burger, catchy name with fantastic graffiti art on the shutters. defo livens up the area.
Overall I wont be coming back here unless someone i know goes and says they've improved
But well see how...
