This little gem is absolutely beautiful. It kept popping up on Google search and with late closing, 3:00am, went along. From the minute you enter, you are greeted warmly. Service is at the bar only, so we went and ordered, where everything was explained to us. Food is cooked fresh, so spice can be adjusted to your taste. The owner is super pleasant, and his bar staff equally as helpful. We ordered yam porridge, with fish, Ogbono with pounded yam, and a pepper soup. Every spoonful is filled with love. That's how authentic and delicious it was. Bar staff are on point, clearing tables. DJ was excellent. I don't think I sat down once.

Great food, people, entertainment, environment, love the peppery taste for those peppery lovers and non-peppery taste for those people who doesn't like spicy. Second time and its lovely. My friend told me about this restaurant long time ago however I didn't had the time but after my move to a new flat on Friday and very tired to cook plus working I wanted home made food and Banana restaurant has given that to me. I will go there for my birthday Wednesday. I went there yesterday and back again today. 😊😘

Staff were warm and friendly. When my friend and I asked roughly when the DJ would arrive they were nice enough to keep us updated when they heard. The Jollof, plantain and fried fish was out of this world. Later on in the evening I had planned on only staying for a few hours of the DJ set. But the music, people and atmosphere was superb. We left at nearly 3am! It was an amazing evening of good food, company, dancing and drinks. I would highly recommend!

Just like another reviewer said, we are expected to support our own businesses? BUT what do we do when our own people run the business with no care or sense?

3 occasions I have been to this place and not once have they met my expectations.

1st occasion which was on a Saturday, arrived at 4pm, and our food was not ready till 7pm, OK lesson's learned.

2nd occasion, Friday night, ordered 2 hrs in advance prior to getting there, still took an 1 hour 30 mins of waiting for the food to be served.

3rd occasion which is the final straw for me, Sunday evening, left Heathrow and gave them a nice friendly call to place my order, and was told the food would be ready in 45mins, I made it clear to the man that took my order that I d really like to come in and not have to wait before I got my food. It took just over an hour to drive from Heathrow to the restaurant, got there and it was clear they had not even started preparing the food. This was at least 9pm, the man that was catering to the customers was clearly frustrated with the kitchen staff, I asked him what has happened to my order and when it will be ready and if there was no hope of it being ready I can start leaving, I saw him clearly expressing his frustration at the two ladies in the kitchen and he ended up coming out to tell me to leave as there is no hope my food would ever be ready. No apology nothing.

They hide behind the excuse that they cook from fresh but this is no way to run a business. I think its best to just convert this business to a Beer parlour instead of trying to run a restaurant.

3 very painful experience, its hard to rate the quality if the food as the service is just sore and sour....

I've been coming to this place since I was about 19 and I used to love it so much I've had many fun nights at banana but recently I must say things are no longer the same , from the type of people that go thier to the rudeness of staff and the owner. The last time I came the owner and the staff were laughing at me & my friend no reason even though we had spent allot of money at the bar if you don't have customer service skills u shouldn't be running a business. And also the food is not good I ordered jollof and fish I asked for it to be spicy and it was bland so instead they gave me pepe soup on the side , the fish wasn't cooked properly either! the food portions are huge but overall this place needs allot of adjustments if they want customers they should consider training their staff to be a allot nicer because they are not warm or friendly I noticed the women at the bar laughing at me (I'm not sure if she was staff or not) and I chose not to ignore it as I was trying to enjoy the music..and drinks i had purchased, that behaviour will scare customers away I'm just being completely honest as I've been coming here for years and I didn't enjoy my time the last time I came and that was a month ago the food needs to be better customer service needs a whole upgrade and that's...

Previously we bought food which was delicious but too hot for our children. But because it was delicious so we wanted to give another try.

After being told that I could order our food mild if I call in advance, I phoned up and placed an order for almost £60 worth of food. We were told it would be ready in 45 mins so we drove to the restaurant to collect in this time.

After waiting a further 2 HOURS!!!! And asking several times and reassured that the food would be mild. We have driven all the way back to old street we have discovered that not only isn’t the food mild... it’s too hot to eat at all. I personally like my food hot. But this is inedible. Especially for my children. My daughter is autistic and all she wanted was some jollof rice. She is now very upset after a long wasted drive and waiting in the car for hours. Only to then burn her mouth on this ridiculous food. Never again. I feel as if they have made it extra hot for a laugh or something. As it doesn’t even make sense for food to be this level of heat.. especially when we specifically requested mild and had to wait...
