Excellent family run independent business that is so popular there are regularly queues outside! This petite sandwich bar offers so much more than their name suggests. A wide choice of hot/cold drinks, fruit, crisps and tempting treats are there to accompany a sandwich (or jacket potato!) with countless fillings of your choice. Hot toasted ciabatta, soft rolls or white sliced breads are always fresh and can be matched with one of the many suggestions or you can invent your own! Staff are wonderful and work like demons to keep the queue down at busy times. That said, if you pop in more than once to order the same thing you can be confident the next time it will be “The usual?” - I have no idea how they remember so many different orders! Next time you are looking for a quick bite then give them a try - so much better that the multitude of corporate sandwich shop that now seem to dominate towns and cities.

Always walked past this spot on the way to the Maughan library. Decided to pop in today for a light lunch. Happy to say that I will be returning very soon! I ordered the no. 4, which was a pressed panini with mortadella, mozzarella, olives and rocket. The ingredients tasted fresh and complimented each other very well. It would've been made even better with a little salt and pepper. Staff were friendly too, greeting me as soon as I walked in. For £6.50, this is great value for money considering that it's located in Strand.

delicious sandwich- wanted the italian job but they were out of chicken escalope, so i got roasted chicken, mozzarella, and sundried tomatos with pesto on ciabatta and it was wonderful; didnt feel sad about missing out on the escalope. really helpful service, as he suggested alternatives and i was happy with the sandwich i got! walked over to victoria embankment gardens and had a lovely lunch

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely the best sandwiches in London! Brunel Sandwich Shop completely exceeded my expectations. The sandwiches are fresh, flavorful, and truly some of the best I’ve ever had in the city. The person who attended me was incredibly kind and welcoming – honestly one of the best customer service experiences I've had anywhere.

The prices are unbeatable for the quality – super affordable! Whether you're in a rush or want a quick bite that hits the spot, this is the place to go. Highly recommend it to anyone near Temple or Strand.

I’ll definitely be...

My review is from 1989.

This place is amazing. I work around the corner in Temple and all we have to choose from is McDonald's or bring your own sandwich from home. The choice is amazing, there's Brie and bacon, chicken tikka, chicken salad, ham salad and you can have mayonnaise or mustard (whole grain, English OR Dijon). It's a breath of fresh air, and I hope that Brunel lasts for years to come. The only other great place in the area is French Franks up Chancery Lane. Their baguettes are incredible. Someone should make a chain out of...
