One of my favourite treats is to have a burger and fries and I feel very lucky that there are many good burger restaurants in London. Burger & Beyond has definitely joined my list of favourites. I must start by saying the customer service was excellent. I had contacted them before my visit with my special requirements and they not only confirmed by phone but also sent me a follow-up email. The staff at the restaurant were also great. Everyone was friendly and attentive but not intrusive or pushy. It was the little touches like the server I spoke to on the phone coming to say hello during my meal and another bringing me a new glass of water with ice instead of just adding ice cubes to my glass. The food was also excellent. I had two starters: the Fish & Chips Taco and the Fried Chicken Bites. They were both very good but the Fish & Chips Taco is really special and highly recommended. The combination of flavours works so well. I also recommend the B&B Punch if you like a cocktail with your meal. I then had the Bougie Burger with Signature Tots. The Bougie Burger was honestly one of the best burgers I have ever had. The patty was cooked perfectly and the cheese, sauce and marrownaise and onions combined with it was absolutely delicious. I was particularly impressed that despite the abundance of sauce, the bun was not soggy. I ended my meal with the Hot Biscoff S’Mores Brownie which I also highly recommend. Again, the combination of the different parts worked really well together. If I had to make one minor criticism, I think that a little more of the ice cream would have been nice, due to the size of the dessert. The restaurant was busy when I was there and I do recommend making a reservation. The noise level was acceptable and there is a decent amount of space between the tables. The atmosphere is particularly nice on the lower floor, as it seemed to have a more relaxed vibe than upstairs where I was seated. The restaurant was also very clean (including the toilets) and the staff were very quick to clean the tables after customers left. I will definitely be back to Burger & Beyond again, as I had a really good dining experience. I will try and resist having the Bougie Burger again and try something different.

Alright hear me now, during my fun filled weekend I managed to end up in burger and beyond. Service was fantastic, it has a very low-key vibe about the place, with cute interior that could give date vibes if you came at night. I got the juicy Lucy taco, bacon butter burger, bone marrow gravy fries and a strawberry lemonade. Strawberry lemonade This drink was refreshing, sweet and citrusy all what is good and right about a lemonade. The strong taste of strawberry almost reassuring you that it’s not your plain Jane lemonade but something different, something special. It was a bit expensive for a lemonade but well worth it. 8.5/10 Jucy Lucy taco I can’t say I was a fan of this in the slightest, the concept of it is unimaginative being a deconstructed burger as a taco. The cheese stuff aged beef was lukewarm which was made to look fancy with sesame seeds, slices of jalapeños which added nothing, shredded lettuce that reminded me of McDonald’s. The beef was tough and chewy and didn’t even taste even slightly seasoned with even a dash of black pepper. Ultimately, very disappointing this wasn’t good at all if you go you should definitely avoid it. 3/10 Bone marrow fries We’re covered in cheese curdles and gravy, the burger and beyond’s shot at what the Canadians call poutine. This was enjoyable, it is very salty but the fries are crispy for as long as possible, it’s a well flavoured gravy and gives a fantastic cheese pull. I wouldn’t suggest eating it with a main meal that is also salty like the bacon butter burger. 6.7/10 Bacon butter burger Burger and beyond have self declared themselves to have the best burgers in London I disagree but I do think they are quite good. From the firm bun that does a great job making sure the burger does become a soggy mess by the sauce and juices from the beef and its signature burnt butter mayo, unique to this restaurant. I do believe everything does work quite well with this burger as it has been kept relatively simple. But I made the mistake of pairing it with the bone marrow fries which made the whole experience too salty and in the end I couldn’t finish it. 6.9/10 Overall rating 7/10 Check out my insta for more food reviews : sjtalks_

We arrived at the restaurant on a soaking wet early evening without a reservation where we got a table. The staff even went as far as wiping down the seats and table with paper towels as we dripped our way into position. The menu features a tasty selection of gourmet fast food options, as well as a few craft beers, craft soft drinks and milkshakes. They also do the more standard Cokes if you want. We ordered a starter of buttermilk fried chicken wings with a caramel, chilli and cocoa sauce and they were absolutely delicious. Crunchy, juicy chicken combined with a sweet and unbelievably hot sauce, my mouth was on fire, (in a good way). They were so moreish it was hard to stop. Once these were finished, the mains were brought over. I opted for a Krispie Fried Chicken (double fried chicken thigh with bacon burger), and my wife, the Chopped Cheese Focaccia beef burger. We also got a side of Truffle tots to share. Everything was fresh, hot and oh so good. Sauces were extra, but I'd kept the caramel coco, chilli sauce leftovers from the wing to dip. We ate upstairs on the ground floor but there is also a basement level, where the toilets are also located. These toilets were clean and well looked after. The restaurant decor is fine, not fussy and I liked that. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and very professional and we never felt rushed. The restaurant doesn't take cash which may be an issue for some, so it is card/phone payments only. The service charge/tip was also included on the bill. My only note would be the lack of air conditioning, as it was very muggy in there, not helped by the rainy outside and that, when combined with the spicy hot wings, made for an initially sweaty sitting. Thankfully the Earl Grey Iced tea and the Peach Lager (served in an ice cold glass), helped massively. We will definitely return.

I recently visited Burger and Beyond's Soho location with a group of 10 friends to celebrate my birthday. I had received positive recommendations from others, so my expectations were high. Unfortunately, the experience proved extremely disappointing.

When I initially emailed to make a reservation for 10 people, I was instructed to book online for 8 and note in the comments that there would be 10 total. Despite following these directions precisely, upon arriving we were told the booking was only for 8. This required us to squeeze around a table intended for fewer guests. Additionally, the restaurant had no vegan menu items available. We were informed that due to “Veganuary,” they had decided not to offer any vegan options for the month. This rationale perplexed me, as excluding dietary restricted customers for an entire month makes little sense for a restaurant today. The vegan members of our party were told their only option was a Caesar salad, which contains chicken. This complete lack of accommodation was upsetting.

Most disappointingly, the service quality proved extremely poor throughout our meal. We had to actively flag down staff for every need, whether to order drinks and food or to request the check. No one proactively checked on us at any point. While I understand restaurants can get busy, such neglect of basic serving duties was unexpected. The experience felt devoid of any hospitality. I have received better service at fast food chains. Yet despite the lack of attention, there was still a service charge added to our bill.

In summary, Burger and Beyond provided an unsuitable reservation setup, excluded guests with dietary restrictions, and demonstrated a complete failure of customer service. Rather than an enjoyable birthday dinner, the evening felt lacking in care or celebration. I cannot recommend this establishment after such profound disappointments across all aspects of...
