Cafe Masala — Restaurant in London

Food was ok, not great, but very disappointed with hidden charges and we were charged for items we did not have. When I called back and spoke to the manager, he was very rude! CHECK YOUR BILL BEFORE YOU PAY!

Hi, thanks for the reply but let’s gets the facts straight.

I did not complain about being charged for poppadoms but instead the chutneys and salads which we didn’t have. You admitted on the call we should not have been charged for this.

You did not give us 50% discount. The bill was £78.55 (for 2 adults and a child) out of which £30 was taken off for “Eat Out to Help Out” government scheme.

I have never given any restaurant a bad review before and the only reason this time is when I called you about items on the bill, at first you apologized and then you said I just called to have a moan!

We left the restaurant with a smile as this is the polite thing to do. Only reason I called back was because of being charged for things we didn’t have. I only checked the bill when I got home.

I don’t usually write reviews, I just ordered from here on Deliveroo, and was so surprised by how fresh and good the curry tasted - having eaten many oily, poor quality Indian takeaways in my time - that I decided to look up the restaurant. At first I was taken aback by how low the rating was, and after reading some reviews I realise that there has been some sort of altercation and now a mass of people have decided to intentionally create false bad reviews. I don’t know the ins-and-outs of the situation, but two wrongs don’t make a right - and these strangers slandering someone and their business should think twice, and not make up lies about the food or rats in the kitchen or other nonsense. I hope the whole situation can be resolved anyway. Anyway, I’m just here to give an honest review of the food - which was EXCELLENT. I ordered the Naga Garlic King Prawns which was fiery but delicious - the prawns themselves were huge, meaty and super tasty! Honestly I was surprised enough at the quality of this meal to look up the restaurant and leave this review.
