A quiet, cozy cafe near Kentish town station. I stopped in for breakfast. It looked closed from the outside because the windows are so tinted but it is open 9-4:30 (4 on sundays). Soft jazz was playing in the background. I had a croque madame. I liked that it came with some salad. The sandwich was decent but needed salt (as did the fries and salad) but luckily there were salt and pepper shakers on the table (my pet peeve is when they make you ask for this). Latte was just ok. Service was good. They have a kids menu.

Wow! Sure, I was hungry getting there, but this is one of the best breakfasts I had in a very long time! I went for the American breakfast for £10 and a cappuccino. Blueberry pancakes which had a great texture, eggs, bacon, syrup, sausage and some potatos. Man, this was great! This is my new go to place for breakfast on weekends! The guy who served the food seemed really nice and took time to chat with the regulars without letting anyone wait for service. Five starts without a doubt!

Local family run restaurant cafe that's been in business for years. Reasonable prices and fresh juices, smoothies to choose from! The team are very accommodating here, not to mention the amazing choices on their menu, kudos to the chefs for keeping up with demand! I love going here when I'm in the area and it's great to see they're going strong following the pandemic and rising costs. Worth a visit if you're in Kentish town.

This place is a complete disaster. I cannot recommend it to anyone.

When we walked in, it was a bit suspicious. The decor was drab and dated, the floor was dirty, the air smelled like old oil and the staff seemed uninterested. But we were hungry and didn't want to search for another place.

We ordered 2 fresh juices and a portion of fish and chips. The juices were really good - probably the only redeeming quality of this place, but not nearly enough to make up for the rest. The fish and chips came super quick - no wonder. The fish was watery and bland. The only taste on the fish was of the old oil they fried it in. Chips were soggy and bland. The peas were in a small bowl just reheated in a microwave with a bit of butter (still not melted) sitting on top. The tartar sauce container has something red/orange weird looking stuck to the side of it - I haven't touched that.

We took 2 bites from the fish and eat half a potato wedge - that's all. Then it took me 5 minutes to get a waiter - the staff was just talking amongst themselves or their friends outside of the restaurant. When a waiter finally came to our table, he just took the plate without a word and left. Couple of second later, another waiter came to us with terminal and just pointed at the contactless part on it - again, no word. They are even presumptuous enough to include a service charge on the bill - we we would obviously not leave any tips otherwise.

I would haven said something, if someone asked, but it was painstakingly obvious those people didn't care one bit about what we thought. So I am just trying to warn everyone else - save your money, go to a supermarket a buy a meal deal - at least you will have something to eat, it will cost you a fraction of what it would at this establishment and you will not have to deal with the...

I have visited Café Renoir a handful of times over the last two years and the service and food have always been really nice. Today was a different story! 5 of us visited for a lunch meeting. The waiter who served us had a terrible attitude problem. He didn’t listen to our orders and kept walking away while we were still speaking. And then had to come back and check again more than once as each time he didn’t listen to what we were saying. The food was very slow to arrive, around 45 minutes. The main courses were enjoyable but the attitude of the waiter spoiled the atmosphere completely. He was very dismissive and made us feel as though we were doing something wrong. I asked for mayonnaise twice and he seemed to have a problem with bringing it to the table. He then brought it with a huge amount of attitude when I had almost finished my food. He was also being very rude towards the two female members of staff working there (who were both very nice). We had to ask for the dessert menu. There were no cakes available so we ordered sweet crepes. They took around 40 minutes to arrive and the order was incorrect but as the waiter was so astonishingly rude we didn’t feel able to tell him. When we asked for the bill he eventually put it down on the table, of course a service charge was added despite the terrible service we actually received. We didn’t complain as we just wanted to pay and get out of there. The waiter was also quite intimidating. We wanted to pay for the whole bill with one card and the waiter eventually came over and said he couldn’t accept cards and told us to go to the cash point. Needless to say we won’t be going back. It’s such a shame as this was a really nice place for a lunch...

I would give ZERO stars if I could for disgusting food and rude sexist staff! I was looking forward to eating but the first order of salmon tagliatelle came as a salmon salad which I immediately politely drew attention to, this didn’t go down well, the waiter was so rude almost blaming me for his mistake, I could hear the kitchen arguing it was clearly a common thing. When my food finally arrived by a different gentleman it looked wrong, no salmon? I asked where was the salmon, I could barely make out a few flakes he admitted it wasn’t filler it was flakes probably cooked from portion of the salad previously offered to me. This was just exhausting. I have to say I tried to eat it but it honestly tasted like a pre cooked microwaved packet it was absolutely disgusting. I left it and sat waiting for 15 minutes, during which I noticed many small flies flying above and landing on the plate of food which I videoed because I was bored, and I just could not believe the attitude and began to question the hygiene! When the plate was finally grabbed from the table without any replacement, offer or apology I paid for my drink without any eye contact from the waiter. I would never eat or recommend this experience to anyone, such appalling food and attitude, an experience...
