Casa de Goa – Hounslow: A Hidden Gem for Authentic Goan Flavours
Tucked away in the heart of Hounslow, Casa de Goa is a no-frills, homely eatery that delivers a genuine taste of Goa’s vibrant culinary heritage. Whether you’re a Goan food enthusiast or simply curious to explore regional Indian flavours, this cozy spot is a delightful discovery.
🌶️ Food & Flavour
The menu at Casa de Goa is unapologetically Goan, offering everything from traditional ros omelette and prawn curry rice to beef chili fry and fish thali. Dishes are well-portioned and flavourful, staying true to the roots with the use of signature Goan spices, coconut, and vinegar blends. The Goan fish thali is a standout—perfectly fried fish served with rice, curry, pickle, and vegetables that capture the coastal essence of Goa. The ros omelette (a street food staple in Goa) served with pav, is comforting and satisfying, especially for breakfast lovers.
🍽️ Ambience & Experience
Don’t expect fine dining—Casa de Goa has the feel of a local Goan tavern. It’s simple, clean, and unpretentious. What it may lack in décor, it more than makes up for in authenticity. The basement-level setting is intimate, making it ideal for casual meals with family or friends. Service is typically warm and welcoming, with staff members happy to guide first-timers through the menu.
💷 Value for Money
Pricing is very reasonable considering the generous portions and authentic quality. Most mains range between £8–£12, and there are affordable breakfast and snack options too. For those on a budget who don’t want to compromise on flavour, Casa de Goa offers excellent value.
🚚 Delivery & Takeaway
The restaurant also partners with platforms like Uber Eats and Deliveroo, making it easy to enjoy Goan food at home. Reviewers consistently note the food travels well, retaining its taste and freshness.
🔚 Final Thoughts
Casa de Goa is a heartfelt tribute to Goan cuisine in West London. It’s not trying to impress with luxury—it aims to feed you well, remind you of home (if you’re Goan), or introduce you to the rich and spicy flavours of coastal India. If you’re after authenticity over aesthetics, this charming spot is definitely...
Read moreMy friends and I decided to go to this place for some Goan food. I had been to this restaurant couple of years ago and it used to be great place for Goan food but this time I was completely disappointed by both food and their service. I guess they have changed the chefs as most restaurant do once they are little famous. We ordered Choris pav - no flavour all colour, Beef cutlet - extra coating of semolina(Rava), Fish cutlet plate - was okay okay, Sorpatel - not even 10% of what I make using Karma sorpatel masala packets, Rosomelette - good flavour of Salt, schezwan chicken noodles - too much food colour, Beef chilli fry - very good flavour but too much oil, Goan king fish thali - fish size is good, variety of different things in the plate is good but the curry because of which we normally like to have Goan fish thali was disgusting and finally The controversial Manchurian - we ordered for Gobi manchurian without checking the menu as 1 of our friends was vegetarian and the waiter took our order reconfirmed the same with us after some time he came with our order as our friend started eating he noticed that they gave him chicken instead of gobi so we ask the waiter about it and he was not sorry at all. Unfortunately, not a single dish was up to the mark. Lime slices were the only item that I would say was best. The rest of the items were well below average. Even ketchup couldn’t save the beef cutlet. If you know how Goan food tastes and are craving for that taste in the U.K. this certainly isn’t the place you’re looking for Suggestion for the owner - cut down on the use of Semolina(rava), oil and salt which is...
