My recent visit to Chai Wala at Brent Cross was nothing short of a culinary catastrophe that left me utterly dismayed. The distressing ordeal began when I discovered a hair lurking in my dish, shattering any remnants of confidence I had in the restaurant's hygiene standards. To add insult to injury, the way the workers dealt with the situation was beyond belief. Instead of a sincere apology, there was an audible laughter that echoed through the establishment, as if my grievance was a source of amusement. It was an appalling display of unprofessionalism that left me questioning the integrity of the entire establishment. When I brought up the issue, the response was not only callous but also devoid of empathy. Rather than acknowledging the gravity of the situation, they nonchalantly offered a replacement, completely dismissing the option of a refund. It was a stark demonstration of their indifference towards customer satisfaction and a blatant disregard for basic service standards. The most disheartening part was witnessing the laughter shared with the chef, as if my unpleasant experience was a source of entertainment in their kitchen. This lack of accountability and empathy left me not only dissatisfied with the meal but also deeply disturbed by the insensitivity displayed by the staff. Chai Wala's failure to address the issue adequately has irreversibly tainted my perception of the establishment. A dining experience that was meant to be a pleasurable escape turned into a regrettable episode of unhygienic practices and disrespectful customer service. Needless to say, I won't be returning, and I strongly caution others against subjecting themselves to such a disheartening ordeal. I even sent them an email about the situation, and just like their lack of respect, there was a lack of response. Couldn’t recommend...

Read moreI can't actually give the Brent across store a rating it was that bad! Unfortunately I had to add a star rating so I could add this review!
The food is not diabetic friendly at all, everything had a tonne of sugar and you can't even get sugar free drinks, not even a coke zero. All of the cold chaiis have sugar as well, and the menu does not state it contains sugar.
We had the Karachi Bun Kebab which was supposed to be a lamb and egg burger. The mint sauce was full of sugar, as was the tamarind chutney and the omelette in the burger tasted reheated. The texture of the omelette was inexplicable.
The papad nachos were so awful, greasy and really hard, again reheated in a microwave with the cheese sauce.
The butter chicken roll was just mush and the Masala chips had sugar in the sauce also. I cannot understand why it needs all the sugar!
Needless to say this restaurant is not a good choice for diabetics and I can't see it being any good for anyone without diabetes either. We ended up such sugar highs and I honestly felt like I was in a...
