I wanted to try Cinnamon Bazar from long time & finally got to visit here with my friends. We were group of 10, reservation was easy over the phone. Table was very crammed, there should be little space to sit comfortably but table was too tight. Place was very busy because of November being festive time of the year and they were under staffed, not even once staff came on their own to take any part of our order, to clear up, to take repeat order or to even give bill, it was like waving, calling numerous time to felt like we are heard, or seen.
Menu when we booked the table on Sunday was different online then when we visited in person on Friday, and we were being told menu was changed 2 weeks back, so website needs to be updated isn’t?
Coming to finally food, in starters we had ordered Aloo tikki , Bhejatable cake, Dahi papadi chaat, Bullet Chillies, Hakka Aubergine, Pineapple chaat
In mains, we had ordered Future 50 Kofta, Ra Ra paneer, Kadhai Mushroom, Okra Fry, Roti & Garlic Naan.
Dahi papadi chaat was a a little shock to palate as none of us anticipated we will be having frozen yogurt on top of papadi when eating chaat, not all experiments work well when we remove the very soul of dish and instead of having burst of tanginess, flavours of chutneys we get to eat frozen yogurt as a starter. Roti really needs an uplift where it was so thick and tasted like non buttered naan which was semi cooked.
Future 50 kofta also had one whole date seed inside one kofta for which they were happy to give us another portion.
Of entire menu we ordered- hakka aubergine, bhejatable cake, future 50 kofta and ra ra paneer gets brownie points and recommendations.
I really recommend them to have more staff, as staff was attentive and courteous but one staff is not enough to handle 25 or more customers singlehandedly on first floor.
I might not prefer to visit this cinnamon in future. The bill was not hefty so that can be a good positive to reconsider...
Read moreHaving dined a couple of times at the Cinnamon Kitchen we booked the Bazaar to give it a try and based on the good reviews and our past experience. Unfortunatley our visit was dissapointing and poor. We ordered 2 courses off of the set menu (there were 4 of us) and we opted for the Shepherds Pie. Whilst it was reasonably tasty it appeared to have either been microwaved or sat around for quite a long time, it was also very, very small - more like a childs portion - it was half the size of the dishes shown in the many photos online. The starter was very nice. However, I would have thought that given we spent £50 per head with drinks, that we would have had some poppadoms or something similar as well, or that the waiter would have suggested that we have something with it, but all they did was drop a small plate with a small bowl on the plate, which was completley lost. The service! We arrived on time and asked if we could have a quick drink outside, and were told that we could but we would have to be quick at the table and this meant we felt very rushed from the beginning. Adding to this, the waiting staff did not know what drinks and tonics were available and rather than find out, just looked completely blank when asked if they had a certain brand of tonic and said "its tonic" in a fairly irritated manner. They offered no advice and were not very friendly. It is a shame as we come up to London perhaps two or three times a year and this has been our worst dining experience by far. They would do well to take a leaf out of 'Mowglis' book (went there last year) where the service and the food is exceptional, and better value for money. ...
Read moreMy father and I visited Cinnamon Bazar last week whilst we were in London. My dad had pre-booked via OpenTable for the menu as part of the London Restaurant Festival 2025. The staff were very friendly and attention throughout the evening and we were even given an unprompted complimentary round of drinks due to a delay in receiving our main course.
The food itself was exceptional. Interesting and unique dishes with an emphasis on flavour over pure heat. The appetisers were great; with my dad particularly liking the Smoked Pineapple and Kasundi Chaat. For starters, we had the Kasturi Chicken Tikka and Masala Grilled Sea Bream - the sea bream was particularly tasty, with great flavour. We both opted for the Tandoori Kentish Lamb Cannon, with corn & yoghurt sauce and pilau rice. This was without doubt the highlight; the lamb was tender and flavourful and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. I did eat half a green chilli I mistook for a green bean which unexpectedly ramped up my spice experience, but not in a detrimental way!
The evening was concluded with the Ginger and Carrot Toffee Pudding with fresh Banana Ice Cream. This was amazing. One of the best deserts I think I've ever had. It was light and rich without being over facing and the ice cream complemented it perfectly.
Overall, we had a great time with our only negative being that some of the other diners (larger groups) were rather loud, though this one no way is a reflection on the establishment or the staff. We both hope to visit again in the future to explore...
