What’s your favourite pub food?
After the team meeting in Covent Garden, I and my teammates went @allbarone to have lunch. I’ve been here before for drinks but never try their food. I was impressed they had quite a lot of food choices. As we had 6 people, we ordered few starters to share.

WHAT WE GOT 🧀Halloumi Fries 🍗Karaage Sticky Chicken 🍟Trio of Fries 🥟Duck Gyoza 🥗Chicken & Avocado Salad
Halloumi Fries seasoned with smoked paprika and saffron aioli. It’s a perfect snack for beer and wine. Love it 🥰
Karaage Sticky Chicken with sesame seeds, chilli, spring onion & chipotle jam. Chicken breast was used so the texture was a bit dry but the sauce was fantastic.
Trio of Fries included two potato fries (1- smoked paprika & aioli 2- Parmesan cheese, truffle oil & rosemary) & one sweet potato fries (sour cream & Ras-El-Hanout spice). I love truffle so the second one was my favourite. 🥰🥰🥰
Chicken & Avocado Salad included various vegetables with a creamy lemon dressing. It had raw sugar snaps which I normally stir-fried it. Surprisingly it tasted pretty good. According to the description, it’s rich in Vitamin A, E, C, B6, Folate & Potassium. After finishing it, I felt energised 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
How’s the Duck Gyoza? See my next post on Instagram @ccgyozalover for details 🤗
Long time ago, I only expected burger and fries to be served at pub. Nowadays, many pubs are serving various delicious foods. I love drinking and eating starters so pub foods are always my...
Read moreI felt like a sardine! The manager has clearly tried to shove in as many tables are possible without giving any thought to the dining experience or how the waiting staff are supposed to serve. As we were so close to the other tables, the waiter couldn't get to our table properly, items a tea pot were placed over my head - glad I didn't have a shower of boiling liquid! That's an accident waiting to happen. When the food came, the plates were just handed to me as I was closest. Should I go collect them from the kitchen too? Another downside to us being squeezed in is that the diners next to us were fully aware of our experience so much so we ended up discussing it with them as well as their poor experience whereby one of their meals was forgotten and the lady with the food would not start eating and so it got cold. The lady without her food after asking several times, got up went to the bar, and walked back after 5-7mins carrying her food. Maybe she did go and collect it from the kitchen! I would suggest you remove some tables so your guests will have a better experience, potentially ordering extras like desert and returning in the future. I won't be returning after that. Also vegetarians like vegetarian food - why must we be forced to eat vegan! Stop painting us all with the...
Read moreWe went a few months ago, my review seems to have been deleted. Nice restaurant, decent food, however service was appalling. We reserved a table that wasn’t ready when we arrived, fine. Once we were seated it took 20 minutes for someone to take our order. After that we waited 45 minutes with nothing, not even drinks and eventually we went to the bar to ask how long everything would be. We were told that they don’t know. We waited another 20 minutes and asked again at which point we were told they were understaffed, understandable of course, however staff were just standing around laughing and on their phone. We eventually got our food, 1 hour and 40 minutes after we were seated at which point we were all hangry and ready to go home. For the sheer amount of money we paid, this was a very disappointing night out. As someone who works in the industry I understand how hard it is to work understaffed however there needs to be some communication, and perhaps if you only have one chef available who is over an hour behind, you should not take so many...
