Today I wanted to take my son Costa to enjoy the Costa experience but instead here is what we experienced: When placing the order the staff did not get it right. I had to repeat and show which sandwiches I wanted: 2 Tuna melt , 1 chicken Fajitas wrap and on Ham & cheese toastie. I ordered 2 large mocha to eat in. The table was dirty, I had to ask to staff to clean it. The tuna melt were ready and was asked to take them. I went to my table and had to come back for the hot drinks which once seated realised that were not mocha but simply hot chocolate. I had to return them and take the ham & cheese to my table. I had to come back for the Fajitas. The cutlery was dirty ( forks and spoon, they ran out of knives) the counter were they were preparing the drinks was dirty with coffee. I finished eating and still did not have my drinks that in the end had to take away. The mocha did not taste like mocha I had to add sugar to it and still was not was I was used to. The staff did not get my order right. First, I asked if they do any cold drinks like smoothies or shakes and I been told that they do not do such drinks and only hot drinks available. Then I agreed to a hot drink and ordered Earl Grey tea, instead after waiting for about 15 min some other drink was presented to me which I did not order, the other staff quickly corrected the mistake but failed to reimburse me with the money I overpayed for a mistaken drink. Then, my friend came 15 min later and asked for a cold drink '' Passion Fruit and Mango' and they served her with a cold drink despite the fact that they told me that they did not do cold drinks at all. Read moreThe staff here are lovely & make it feel like an independent, local coffee shop rather than a chain, which can often feel generic & a little soulless - this definitely isn't the case here. Despite being constantly busy the wait is never too long & staff are always friendly - in particular Sadia, she is someone who every business would benefit from having on their team. One Saturday she was working without the usual team - usually 4 staff but 2 colleagues were sick - & the 3rd was new so she was also training a totally new team member, so basically it was just her for the whole day and she smashed it! She was really good at training whilst also running the shop & the new guy was fab too. She was given a £20 tip which for coffee says it all really. Tbh I come bk now due to Sadia's friendly vibe, I have my coffee & a chat.
