Dessert Ice Cream Club — Restaurant in London

I’ve been here in the past and had a good experience, but today I experienced such shockingly poor and rude service that I feel compelled to write a review. The people serving appeared to be almost wilfully obtuse and unhelpful. I had to repeat my fairly straightforward order about five times and even had to count my family members to show that, yes, we wanted four ice creams for four people. One of the people serving had to walk around to look at the picture board to see what we wanted, and even then we were asked three times if we want ice cream (yes, we want ice cream because there’s ice cream in the photo). Despite this, when one of the ice creams didn’t have any ice cream on it, and I pointed this out, I got a huffy “did you want ice cream on this one then?” I also pointed out that it should have a Flake in it (because there’s one in the photo…) but I got a flat “no, this one doesn’t have a Flake in it”, at which point I decided that life’s too short, gave up, and just took what I was given.

The only reason I didn’t give one star is because the ice creams (well, the parts I was given) tasted good. At £28 for four ice creams, I expect better service than this though, even in London.

As an aside, the people working there appeared to be on the phone to the owner (?) asking if they could close early because it wasn’t very busy. It wasn’t rammed certainly, but there was a steady flow of customers during the twenty minutes or so that we were there. Absolutely terrible service. The staff, especially the girls working there, were incredibly rude. Even more concerning, they do not follow basic sanitary standards. They handle appliances and serve customers without wearing gloves. North Greenwich - Ordered for 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream in a cup. For which I was charged £12 . Probably the most expensive scoops of vanilla ice cream ever.
