I couldn't wait to finally try this place!  The concept of Detroit-style pizza, with its deep crust and caramelized cheese on the edges, had my hopes high. Plus, the menu boasted a great variety, catering to different tastes, which is always a plus to cater to different tastes and moods. However, my experience left me a bit underwhelmed. The pizza didn’t feel like it was made fresh—it had that reheated vibe. The dough was more spongy than crisp, which is disappointing when you’re expecting that gorgeous crunchy crust. The sauce, though flavorful, was a bit too dry for my liking, and the cheese lacked that gooey, molten stringiness that makes pizza irresistible. It reminded me of an elevated version of school cafeteria pizza—better in taste but missing that fresh-off-the-stone feeling. That said, the flavors were still quite enjoyable. The jalapeños brought a nice, consistent heat, and the honey drizzle added an unexpected but welcome sweetness that played well with the spicy pepperoni. The flavour of the tomatoes was also more pronounced thanks to the honey, balancing the overall flavors nicely. I can definitely see this being much better if served fresh, but as it was, the experience was just average. If you’re curious, it’s worth a try, but don’t set your expectations too high unless you catch it hot out of the oven.

What can I say about this pizza. One of the best I've had in London! The hype is definitely worth it! We were lucky to be introduced to Detroit Pizza when we were visiting a friend's place who lives nearby their old location in Battersea and we're so glad we did. I don't usually like very thick base pizzas and I've had a Chicago Deep Dish Pizza when I was travelling in the USA but found it way too heavy. But these Detroit Pizzas don't feel heavy. The dough is light and airy but crunchy on the outside (but not burnt). This regular size Red Stripe I ordered with extra forest mushrooms is basically two meals for me, because two pieces is very filling. The sauce is tasty and I love that they give a decent amount of sauce to make sure you're not just tasting pizza dough and I was also pleasantly surprised with the amount of full mushrooms they added, usually when you add extra toppings I've found other places to be super stingy so definitely felt that I got my £2 worth. My hubby had the Detroit and loved it too. We were so excited to eat this again we just parked nearby and ate it in our car fresh from their old location. Would highly recommend this pizza and would definitely make the effort of going to visit them on the other side of the city. Keep up the good work 👍🏼

Hurts to even write this as I LOVE their pizza but my recent experience was horrible. As soon as we arrived we weren’t at all acknowledged, we grabbed a table at the front which was dirty so wiped it ourselves. 15 minutes passed and nothing from the one server they had so we went up to the till to order. He seemed quite rude, almost annoyed that we were ordering food. I don’t know if he was having an off day but we didn’t feel welcome. We waited 30mins for our food and annoyingly saw that it was sat on the side for about 10mins. I’m veggie and my partner isn’t so he ordered a meat pizza - not only were they cut by the kitchen staff with the same knife but they were also served on the same tray which meant there was meat on my pizza. When it finally arrived at our table the pizza was cold and the cheese was all hard. We had been looking forward to eating it for weeks now and honestly we could only manage two slices and both left two behind because it didn’t taste good. Then when I got up to leave I realised that my shopping bag and handbag (which had been resting on the side of the table) were covered in grease!! Luckily my new clothes inside weren’t damaged but I was shocked at the level of cleanliness. I’m sad to say I won’t be returning.
