Today, I had the pleasure of visiting Diba restaurant in Chelsea on King's Road for the second time in 11 months. As a food critic with a passion for wine, I was delighted to experience their exceptional cuisine once again. The lunch consisted of a special kebab, baghali polo, and a selection of amazing starters such as kashke-bademjoon, and olevjeh. Each dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to maintaining high food standards. During my visit, I had the pleasure of meeting Shoresh Keykhosravi, a young and enthusiastic Iranian gentleman who recently started wine-making in the UK. Despite immigrating to England less than five years ago, Shoresh already has his own vineyard in Iran and launched his first wine production in 2022. His collection includes two full-bodied red wines and one white wine. What truly impressed me was Shoresh's remarkable success at the Coventry National Association of Wine and Beer Makers in 2023. Amongst 769 delegates, his red wines claimed the first and second positions in their respective categories. Additionally, two of his wines were recognized as the highest and best recommended wines overall. This achievement is truly remarkable for a newcomer to the industry. I had the opportunity to taste one of Shoresh's winning red wines, and it was a true delight. The wine boasted a full body, with rich flavors that enveloped the palate. The finish was round and satisfying, leaving a lasting impression. I could discern notes of blackberries, adding a delightful touch of sweetness to the overall experience. Shoresh Keykhosravi is a name that deserves to be remembered in the world of wine. His passion, dedication, and remarkable success in such a short period of time are a testament to his talent and expertise. I am excited to see what the future holds for him and his vineyard. Overall, my experience at Diba restaurant and my encounter with Shoresh Keykhosravi left me thoroughly impressed. It is a pleasure to witness a restaurant that consistently maintains its high food standards and to discover a promising wine producer like Shoresh. I look forward to sharing my experience with others and recommending both the restaurant and Shoresh's wines to fellow food and wine enthusiasts. A Disappointing Experience We dined at this restaurant and was left deeply dissatisfied with the overall experience First and foremost, the service was concerning. The waitress, who had long nails, served olives by placing them into small plates with her bare fingers. This practice is far from hygienic and immediately raised red flags about the restaurant’s standards. Additionally, the same waitress was responsible for running up and down the stairs to deliver food to tables. When she arrived at our table, she was breathing heavily directly over our plates, which was both unprofessional and unsanitary. It was evident she was overworked and tired, which likely impacted the overall quality of the service. The physical setup of the restaurant also left much to be desired. The area near the stairs leading to the toilet crosses by the kitchen, and there was a persistent unpleasant smell resembling sheep. This odor was off-putting and detracted from the dining experience. To make matters worse, a quick glance into the kitchen revealed a chaotic environment that hardly inspires confidence in the cleanliness or care taken in food preparation. As for the food, it was underwhelming at best. The quality was below average, lacking both flavor and presentation.

Terrible service. I placed a phone order and entered the restaurant after work, dressed in a jacket and cargo pants as I’m a builder. As soon as I walked in, a waitress looked at me and asked me to wait outside. I explained that I was here for my order, but another lady, who seemed to be the main waitress, loudly told me to wait outside, assuming I was a delivery driver—even though she saw me explain to her colleague that I had placed a phone order. This was done in front of other customers, making the experience quite embarrassing. What's even worse is that there was no acknowledgement of this or an apology. The food was okay at best, but the lamb shank was overly fatty—I ended up throwing most of it away. The terrible service overshadowed everything, with the staff showing a clear lack of decorum and making unprofessional, demeaning assumptions. I wouldn’t recommend this place based on their attitude. They seem quite stuck-up, though perhaps others might have a different experience.

We booked 2 weeks in advanced as it was for Iranian new year and we knew it would be busy. We booked for 8pm but when we arrived they asked us to wait outside where they had some seating as the party before us was still finishing up. We said ok but after 20 minutes we went back and asked what was going on and the table was pointed out to us where the family was still fully in the middle of their meal and they said they will get the table sorted asap.

After 40 minutes we still did not have the table and went in to complain and saw that the table were being served tea and dessert. the staff was polite but not helpful in the matter. They gave us excuses such as “they have a child” “it’s a fully booked night” and “it’s Iranian new year” which don’t have anything to do with us as we booked well in advance.

50 minutes in we were finally seated however they didn’t give us the original table that was intended for us in the main bit of the restaurant which has all the lovely new years decor instead they shifted 3 smaller tables together at the back of the restaurant and the family kept our table.

Although the staff were kind they made us feel as though our reaction to the situation was not reasonable although we were extremely polite just rightfully frustrated at the situation. I can understand that hospitality is a very difficult job however being seating 50 minute after our reservation is unacceptable.

We were offered free starters at the beginning but when the bill came the starters were charged.

Over all the food was amazing which makes me so sad that the start of the experience of our new years dinner wasn’t the best. All in all the atmosphere is great and really some authentic Persian food but better...

Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at a Diba restaurant that truly exceeded my expectations in every aspect. From the moment I stepped in, the warm and inviting ambiance set the stage for a delightful culinary experience. The standout feature of this restaurant was undoubtedly the exquisite food. Each dish I ordered was a masterpiece of flavor and presentation, showcasing the authentic flavors and traditional cooking techniques of Persian cuisine. The kebabs were perfectly grilled, tender, and bursting with flavor, while the aromatic rice dishes were a true delight for the senses. The service at the restaurant was impeccable. The staff members were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. They were quick to recommend must-try dishes, offer insights into the menu, and promptly cater to any requests I had. Moreover, the staff's passion for their culture and cuisine shone through in their interactions, adding a personal touch to the overall experience. Their warmth and hospitality created a welcoming atmosphere that made me feel like a valued guest throughout my meal. In conclusion, this Persian restaurant stands out not only for its delicious food but also for its top-notch service quality and exceptional staff. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking to savor authentic Persian flavors in a welcoming and hospitable setting. It was truly a gastronomic journey that left a lasting impression, and I cannot wait to return for another memorable...
