I have known this place for almost 2 years. There used to be a great manager Francesco with highly personal and kind approach but he left last summer.
There is a good range of meat, cheese, salads and confectionary and it is easy to get used to buying something special on a regural basis. My review would be different only a few months ago. However I bought a panini a few weeks ago there and requested toasting it. The male staff barely made it warm which I found out after 5 minutes of walking down the road to my appointment. The taste of it put me off from buying there anything that involves request to make something hot.
There is also long-term/ongoing issue with correct price labeling of many items at the store. And some of them are missing completely. The price label is displayed as lower and customer is charged a higher price at the till. Is there no manager competent enough to fix it as the first thing in the morning before opening the shop? This is how it is done in small private shop branches everywhere else! I learnt that many customers are always told that the change of price was very recent, just a few days ago, which is a blatant lie. Some of the products are displayed with wrong prices since the last summer and absolutely nothing has been done about it. It is a bad and unlawful practice. They have lost some regular customers because of it.
On one ocassion when it was reported in a polite manner to the new manager Nina, she was downright rude and responded to the customer that if they didn't like the shop they should not come anymore. She should have apologized instead, made a refund for the price difference, and made a note for herself what needed to be fixed. Instead the customer was publicly humiliated and the wrong label put back immediately. What qualifications and experience does she have to handle complaints while providing excellent...
Read moreif the food wasn't this good ,i think i would have never walked inside this shop. i used to shop here like 3 months ago. the team was absolutely amazing, the ladies on the floor so welcoming and so helpful, i could notice their attention on following and helping older ladies at the shop too, without being asked. the team was looking clearly solid and functioning at his best. the deli part too, the guy with the rasta is super nice, and the lady with the red hair was the most heart warming person that ever served me in a 'supermarket'. the older man, which i believe is the 'boss' ,doesn't talk much but he know what he's doing!! however, i came back one week ago and no one from that team is there anymore. the new team is unprofessional and rude. a lot of men and all of them have just this sloppy face that looks someone just died in front of them. the music is loud and awful , i've been inside 30 minutes and the same song played at least 10 times, bless whoever has to be there for more than 5 hours a day. i was so lucky to even meet the area manager where i could tell him personally what i felt about the shop. his face and his reply were so fake! ANTONIO if you are reading, you are not doing good your job. you are loosing clients and inserting a clime of fear and you could tell in the moment he stepped into the door. the team should not feel scared of you. oh and also,i suggest you all ,if you HAVE to buy at this shop,go in person because through delivery they are doing many illegal things. they are covering the weight and the price of the items, giving you a different...
Read moreThis place is not following coronavirus government guidelines at all. One female shop assistant this evening was not wearing a face masks at all and denied me entry to the shop even though I told her that I was exempt and had a serious disability. She talked to me without her face mask and put it on only after I left when she saw I was taking a picture of her through the shop window. She insisted that she did not care about my exemption. This place is in breach of law and discriminates persons with medical conditions. Their company policy does NOT supercede The Equality Act 2010 and it is an offence to deny entry based on disability for which the staff is personally liable for. Also they can be penalised up to £9000. They are also ignorant that wearing the face masks does not prevent spreading the virus, and there is no scientific evidence to support this claim. On the contrary, it can cause bacterial infection of the breathing airways according to the latest research. I was a loyal customer for the past 4 years spending a lot of money weekly but I am not coming back anymore. They already lost some good customers before for arrogant behaviour of some their...
