Dominiques
Almost opposite Hampstead Heath Overground station and DOG-FRIENDLY Dominique's is a family-run cafe/restaurant at the heart of the local community.
There’s street-side seating and a large sky-lit gallery room at the back which you can’t see from the street.
If you want a taste of local life this is the closest you’ll get anywhere in the area. Hopefully, you’ll get the same feel at weekends when the place is busier. But if you need to escape the weekend bustle and it looks full from the front, there’s a good chance you’ll have space at the back for kids, dogs and buggy’s.
The owner is a nice man with massive smile. He always remembers and welcomes his regular customers.
If I’m visiting my dad, I pop in with friends and family for an oat milk cafe latte or the vegetarian dish with delicious rice which has been consistently good throughout the years.
While Tarfu*cks etc edge into the street Dominique’s is a Hampstead Heath institution with a personality which will hopefully be...

Any way some one came out with the menus and proceeded to wipe the table with what I can only describe as a pair of damp socks,we asked for a jug of tap water and got two small glasses I ordered a prawn and avocado sandwich and my wife ordered some humus and a prawn cocktail. After a wait of 25 minutes or so I was told that there was no white bread do I want brown I refused still no jug of water second time of asking I asked for the menu to re order my wife was still waiting all this time for hers. They came back with the menu only to tell me that they found some white bread still no jug of water!when I asked where he ‘found’ the bread he smiled,I looked at my wife and said ‘let’s go I’ve had enough’. As we both got up the waiter said that it was nearly ready! I just couldn’t believe what was going on it was like a scene out of Fawlty Towers...
Read moreNot worth the 1 star. After a relaxing afternoon we decided to finish off with a late lunch at this place. Chatting away we realised we had not had any service - my mate was starving. She asked the waitress at the table next to us if she could come over who replied yes…then disappeared never to return. I went to get menus. My mate hailed someone to take order. Food arrived and we were not given cutlery. I went to find some. My cup of tea ended up being a pot of tea which I mentioned I had not ordered but was charged for anyway. Couldn’t attract staff to bring the bill. We decided to pay at the till. The waitress took my card and dumped it on the counter. A couple next to us were wiser and less tolerant than us. They left their menus, got up and left after waiting ages for a waitress.. The food? Good but I would not go back and pay £13 to a restaurant and have to...
